Date Night at Casa Ciavarro

Back in the Summer Chad bought a season pass to ride the gondola up and down Grouse mountain since he did the Grouse Grind at least once a week. As a bonus to getting this seasons pass, you have the ability to get half price passes for 4 guests each time you go up. Immediately as I learned this I thought it would be prefect to use on a date night and have dinner up at the top. It took us a while to get our act together and plan a date, but we finally did!

Chad warned me to plan an appropriate outfit, especially if we wanted to walk around the mountain after dinner, but I was too concerned with the notion of getting dressed up.

The inspiration for the outfit was a Vero Moda top I bought last year for Christmas. I absolutely adore the ruffles and colour of this halter top. It fits me like a glove and is such a fun piece to have. I don’t wear it often, but I thought it would be perfect for date night.

I knew that a halter top would be a bit too cold to wear at the top of a mountain, but I didn’t want a bulky sweater to cover me up, so I chose a simple black 3/4 length sleeve shrug from S-Twelve. It perfectly covered the part of my back and shoulders that were exposed, while not taking away from the texture of the ruffles.

In the theme of allowing the focus of my outfit to be my inspiration I simply went with my black denim leggings and my new black high heel boots. A few touches of silver in my jewelry and I was set to go!

Luckily for me the peak of the mountain was covered in clouds, so while I didn’t get to see an amazing view, I did have an excuse not to walk around in my ‘Non Weather Appropriate’ date outfit!

[...] I took my time to get ready before heading out to the North of Vancouver. It wasn’t very cold at the bottom of the mountain, but I had my scarf and coat and gloves all ready to go. The ride up the gondola was fun. It was pretty empty and we were able to see the city until about half way up the mountain before reaching the clouds. [...]
