The Comfort Zone

See, you can just tell when you are wearing something you are comfortable in how much it shows. I should probably just stick to things I KNOW look good and make me feel good, even if that means a whole lot of leggings and plaid. Some girls who have fashion blogs only wear skirts, or dresses, or florals, so why do I feel the need to mix it up so much when clearly I am not comfortable it that? Who knows.

Usually I wear my leggings over my Chuck Taylors, but today I decided to tuck them IN and wear my Chucks open laced. I really like the way this looks. It’s funky and stylish.

I wore my Mavi plaid blouse over top of a long white tank top and kept everything else accessory free (well, aside from a small hair clip).

I love this outfit. This is me.

Humm…meh?

I’m not totally satisfied with today’s outfit. I guess days like this are inevitable. The concept was right in my head, but it didn’t turn out quite as I imagined.

I like all the pieces, I just don’t think they go together.

I started off with a flutter sleeve blouse from Plum. It’s a beautiful blouse with a great print, but I decided to cover it up with my big cocoon sweater from Kersh. Not the smartest idea.

I belted both with a gold leather belt. It’s a nice combination, visually, but the sweater is just too bulky.

I wore my dish slash picket jeans, but I think they are just too short for the boots I have. I finally realized I just don’t feel comfortable wearing that combination.

Over all, I was just not feeling it, and when you don’t feel it, you don’t look it.

Oh well, I tried something out at least!

Papas Vest

I went back to my parentals house thinking I could find the old Boyfriend jacket I use to have. That plan failed, but instead I found a couple of old suits my Mom had saved. One just happened to be my Dads wedding suit! I took the jacket, in hopes of wearing it as a Boyfriends jacket, or a “Papa jacket”, but I need to take a second look at it. In the mean time, I took the vest and immediately integrated it into my wardrobe. Thank God my Dad use to be so skinny!

I wore my tabbed white sleeve shirt and thought of my Dads vest right away. Pairing my boyfriend blouse and vest totally makes me look like an editor working at a newspaper. It made me feel very masculine. I kinda like it hahaha!

I paired this with my new Royal Serena Mavi Denim Leggings, which are the most amazing leggings ever. I love love love the colour of them. I also wore my faux fryes to kick it up a notch.

My wired heart and cherry hair clip added a touch of femininity to my outfit. It wasn’t enough femininity for Chad to actually like my outfit. He hates when I dress like a boy!

I really love this look though. I’m so glad I found my Dads wedding vest!!!

So I finally got my two NEW pairs of Serena Denim Leggings from Mavi this past week. I am sooo obsessed with them.

Charcoal & Royal are the new additions to my collection. I can’t tell you just how much I love them! The colours are amazing, and will be perfect for Spring.

Depending on the wash of these Denim Leggings prices range from $79 – $88.

A big thanks goes out to Kendall from Mavi who was kind enough to get me, and the girls at work, these jeans.

I’m probably going to wear these every day now.

I can’t wait to see what Mavi has in store for Fall!

P.S. Mavi doesn’t pay me to say this, I am actuallly this obsessed with their Denim Leggings!

Sunday Social

Mom had an Italian bake off today. It’s become somewhat of a tradition that she does every year on Palm Sunday. Lots of Italians and wine and ‘Fougasse’; the cakes that they make. Being a typical Catholic Italian means this time of year is always filled with family, and food, and church; even more so then Christmas.

Chad and I went to Palm Sunday mass, then came home to finish up all the work we started on Saturday, then headed off to my Moms for the Fougasse contest. See, all very Italian.

I wore my black denim leggings and black boots.

On top I wore my white v-neck t-shirt with my violet blue button up v-neck sweater from Plum. The colour is stunning.

I belted my top with a thin silver belt.

Simple and classy, but then again, isn’t that what I always go for?

1 more week until Easter and lots of Chocolate!

The Pink Monster

This is what I look like after a day spent fixing up the apartment for Spring.

Cleaning
Patching
Sanding
Painting
Dusting
Cooking
Organizing

Exhausted.

This is the first Saturday in a long time that we spent at home all day and all night, but we got a lot done. More to come tomorrow.

It’s just me, my pink PJs, and Chad in a sugar coma.

PS. I just had a shower.

The End of the Week

This is Friday. This is a casual Friday. Story of my life? Maybe. Story of this week? Definitely.

All I wanted to do today was nothing. It kind of happened and it kind of didn’t. It was like the big sigh after an intense workout. Everyone was kind of mellow at work.

We skipped dinner and went to see Avatar. I went in not expecting much and I came out loving it. I can’t believe how much I loved it. Was not expecting that at all.

I ate a lot of nachos and candy.

I fell into my typical Lazy Danielle trap today.

Mavi Jeans
Long white v-neck t-shirt from F21
Grey v-neck sweater from Kersh
Grey checkered Vans

I made the outfit cute by wearing a gold headband in my hair and a silver and gold charmed necklace.

I think its adorable.

Managers Meeting Outfits

Posted by Danielle Ciavarro under Inspiration

Here are the outfits we modeled for the Managers Meeting.

Note that Erin, Alicia’s friend, is actually a model and I am not. Plus, Claudia stuck me in a lot of white, which just made me look lost, haha. I am SO pale!

A Meeting of the Managers

Today was a very long and tiresome day. All the stress that had been brought on this week, was in preparation for today. While we in the design department don’t work one on one with the managers of our stores, twice a year (Spring and Fall) we organize part of their meeting where we show them the latest trends and newest merchandise. We also get to sit in on any guest speakers and promotional talks, which are always fun. The organization of everything tends to be a little last minute each year, which makes the 3 of us who work the meeting uber stressed.

This year we did a little something different and actually modeled outfits instead of just putting them together and hanging them on a rack. Yours truly was one of the models!

It is customary at each Managers Meeting that each member of the design department wears something new from the Spring collection. This usually consists of a brand new outfit which we each have to buy on our own, if we don’t already have something we can wear. This year because I was modeling a bunch of outfits, wearing the latest trends wasn’t the end of the world, so I just through on a couple of spring pieces.

The outfit is kind of a repeat of what I wore on Saturday.

I wore my white a-line, v-neck t-shirt, with my grey suit jacket. I stole Claudia’s scarf because I loved the colour of it, and it went much better with my outfit then the scarf I had on. I then wore my yoga jeans and brown boots. Simple, but effective. Everything, execpt for the boots, can be purchased at Plum.

P.S. I love popping the collar of my suit jackets!

The Deep Vee

Yea, so, I told you. Another day of clueless, lazy, fashion. I just can’t think ahead this week, and the weather changes from the minute I wake up to the minute I leave for work, so I’m totally lost.

I was very much in a rush this morning so I don’t even know if my outfit makes sense. I didn’t have time to double check, ha.

The simple grab consisted of…

Aritzia deep v purple t-shirt, that I could live in.
Mavi Serena Denim Leggings, that I do live in.
Random brown patchwork flats.
Two Gold necklaces that have gold balls which you can move around the necklace. My Nonna have them to me when I was young and I love them.

Even though I was really lazy today, I really like this outfit. I may just have to repeat it!
