Legendary Noodles and Chatroulette

Went over to Claudia’s for dinner and the Internet tonight. Nothing like some damn tasty noodles and way to much peen thanks to Chatroulette. It was our first attempt at exploring this new website, and though it was fun connecting with people from all over the world, there were way too many naked men for my liking!

I had a mental block this morning when I attempted to get dressed. I wasn’t being very creative at all, and I fear, with the business that is this week to come, theres not going to be a lot of creative outfits.

I wore a long white t-shirt layered with the cropped retro cardigan from Kersh. Love the colour of it!

I went casual and wore my Dish Jeans cuffed and some black flats.

The necklace is an assortment of black and white beads, circle chains, and hearts. I should have taken a close up of it, but I was distracted with all the nudity.

You will have to forgive me.

I’ve Been a Bad Girl

Or at least that’s what these pictures make me think.

I was feeling a bit rustic today; maybe a little bad as well. I wore a black sweater in the office today because it was so cold, so I looked even more ‘bad’ at work. I blame my love of black.

I went for my black denim leggings, shocking, and my faux Fryes.

I layered a white t-shirt with a grey Henley I bought in Australia. I layered that with my green and black handkerchief scarf that I love so much.

I decided to do something different today and belted my top and scarf at my empire waist. It’s adds a bit of visual interest to an otherwise blank slate. The belt is yet another Value Village find.

I opted for some black chunky jewels to keep with my rustic, bad girl look. Sometimes I love over playing a look like this.

The glasses were the perfect piece to top it off.

Sunday Lalala

I finally had time to sit down and do a little bit of research for our trip to Italy today. It felt so good to finally start some. Our parents have been doing most of the work, but I have been itching to get started on some of my own!

We spent most of the day watching TV and hanging out at home. In the evening we went to a Thank You dinner put on for volunteers of this Italian organization Chad and I are a part of. Nothing like free home cooked Italian food for helping out every year! After dinner we went to Dario’s for a quick glass of Scotch (which I didn’t participate in) and then back home to veg on the couch.

Weekend comfort consisted of my ripped to shreds Mavi Jeans, a black scoop neck t-shirt from Esprit, my teal boyfriend cardigan from Kersh, a multi coloured scarf, and my grey knit hat. Everyone at the dinner thought I was trying to be Bob Marley. I’m surprised old Italians even know who that is!

Ahh, I love lazy Sundays!

Basement Wonders

Dinner at the In-Laws again this weekend. A mini reunion with some friends of theirs. I had never met them before, but Chad and his sister grew up with them. Great people and great conversation. There was so much laughing going on and it was just fun to hang out with them! I hope we get to do it again in the future.

It was even nice enough out today that we actually sat on the patio and had drinks and appys. It is a wonderful feeling when you can do that in March!

I wore my Mavi Serena Denim Leggings again, but styled them differently. I layered a couple Kersh A-Line Tank Tops from last year. I love the colour of the blue one!

I threw on top my grey Tobias Suit Jacket and a sliver chain, to keep the outfit stylish but simple.

My brown boots made for the perfect contrast.

The perfect outfit for meeting new people while transitioning into Spring.

I love cropped Suit Jackets!

Wedges and Hedges*

I had a meeting this morning with 2 reps from a company that we have begun to order fancy trims from. I was under the impression that the meeting was about trims, but when I entered the room, all there was, was fabric samples. Oh No! In no way, shape, or form, do I have any say in what fabrics we order. I’m the trim girl not the fabric girl! It wouldn’t have been so bad if Claudia had been there. She orders fabrics all the time and would have been able to say Yay or Nay, but she decided not to come into work and left me to fend for myself. Not a good situation to be in. The fabrics were all from Italy and super expensive, so at least it was easy to say no, because I knew there was no way we would ever use such pricy pieces. The fun part was that both reps were Italian and they chatted away to each other in the mother tongue. We talked about trips to Italy and where we are all from. It was quite cute!

Since I had a meeting this morning, I decided to make it Fancy Pants Friday.

rewI wore my Mavi Serena Denim Leggings in Blue, with a pair of sling back wedges I bought at Payless a couple of Summers ago. It’s getting close to open toe/sandal season!  I then wore a really fun and comfy tank top with ruching detail from Urban Outfitters. I love this piece and bring it out every Spring/Summer. It is so fun, and everyone who sees it wants to know where I got it. Since it’s not quite sleeveless top season, I threw on my black ribbed waist cardigan from Kersh.

As for jewellery, I chose a large turquoise stone necklace that I bought at Plum last year. It is one of my favorite pieces of jewelery I own. I also have the matching ring, which I’ve worn before.

I felt very stylish and professional in this outfit today! Heels will do it to me every time!

*Thanks Shazzi!

The Brights Are Coming Out

Another glorious day in Vancouver. The girls at work are back from their trip to LA so lots of stories and clothing samples filled the day. Everyone was running around trying to catch up on things they missed, and there were meetings, and lunches, and mini clothing disasters, which made the day go by very quickly.

Todays outfit made me fall in love with my Straight Leg Dish Jeans. I was on the fence about them until I saw the pictures from today. Then I decided I made the right choice! Haha. Pretty silly since I can’t really bring them back. I kind of HAVE to love them now!

It was warm enough that I didn’t need a sweater in the office so I wore my purple v-neck, rouched, knit top from Plum. I adore the colour of course. You know me and my saturated colour obsession. I wore it my usual way, with a simple white cami underneath.

I opted to go with a bright blue chunky beaded necklace that I got as a Birthday gift many years ago. I love the contrast against the purple.

Black flats worked out perfectly for all the running around I did today.

The perfect casual, yet fashionable, Thursday outfit!

Summer with a Winter Breeze

We went to the Parentals for dinner today. I took the opportunity to take some pictures on the deck since it was so beautiful outside. The sun was shinning but the breeze was cold. Spring hasn’t quite hit us JUST yet!

I decided to try wearing my denim leggings cuffed at the bottom, but because they are so dark, you can’t actually see the contrast, which is the whole point at cuffing jeans. Oh well.

I wore my A-line, v-neck, t-shirt from Plum with my grey boyfriend cardigan from Kersh. I wanted to pop some colour into my outfit so I wore my pink Keds and layered a couple turquoise necklaces. The long beads I’ve had for years, and the shorter chain with the fuchsia flower I got at Plum.

I also put a little clip in my hair that I bought at Barefoot Contessa last Summer. A cute little black strawberry.

I love playing with colour, when it comes to shoes and accessories. Combining bright, contrasting colours, makes any outfit fun!

Shop ’til You Drop!

Posted by Danielle Ciavarro under Purchases

Here are some photos of the new things I’ve purchased in the last little while.

I forgot that all the t-shirts were left in a bag for a week, so they are a little wrinkled. Scratch that, a lot wrinkled. I apologize for my laziness in not ironing them, but seriously, who irons t-shirts.

Anyways, enjoy!

The Day of Days

Today was one of those days where I just couldn’t concentrate or do anything other then a mindless task. My head was all wrapped up in fear and my stomach was in knots. I had to go to the Cancer Clinic today to see what the next steps would be in dealing with my Thyroid Cancer. Even though I was pretty sure everything would be ok, there was still a part of me that could not stop worrying. This made the day stressful, and me, exhausted. However, everything turned up good, and I only have one more scan to do before I am given the ‘all clearl’, so I am very happy about that!

In wanting to stay positive, even though I was clearly worrying myself sick, I decided to dress up a bit to list my spirits.

The blouse I got from Plum, one of the Trinity blouses we brought back from California. This one has amazing lacy details all over the front and back. The grey is very soft and fancy, and the fabric feels very rich. It’s a very delicate and beautiful blouse.

I wore my black Mavi denim leggings and black boots, because that’s always my go to when dressing fancy. Yes, I need to incorporate dresses and skirts into my wardrobe, but they need to be hemmed, and its not quite warm enough for me to brave it!

I was feeling a bit washed out with the grey and black, and I didn’t want to wear a necklace because it would interfere with all the lace and details on the front of the blouse, so I decided to wear a fuchsia snake skin belt, with Gold and Silver buckle, that I got at Value Village, around my empire waist. It added that perfect burst of colour, and gave me some shape in an otherwise shapeless blouse.

I felt very fancy running around the office all day, hahaha.

Now, I am going to relax, and recuperate from all the worrying!
