A Day at Work, a Date at Night

It’s a fancy Friday today because we are going out on a double date tonight with my cousins and I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of time in between to get ready and change looks. Plus, I kind of felt like being fancy anyways.

This outfit is basically a copy/variation of the one Claudia put together for our Managers Meeting. It’s such a cute and easy look that you can substitute any knit top and sweater and still look just as great.

I tucked a basic white scoop neck t-shirt into a cute little black tulip skirt and then wrapped a grey belt around it.

I layered this look with a beautiful violet blue sweater. The perfect length for pairing with a short skirt.

The tights I wore were fun, but a giant pain in the butt. They are ‘One Size Fits All’, but far from actually fitting me. They don’t have a lot of hold so even though I pulled them up high (which I do with every pair of tights I have and they always stay) these ones fell down horribly. Not only that but the knee stretched out right away. I was highly annoyed with them. If I was wearing them with boots they wouldn’t have been such a big deal because I would have tucked the excess into the boot, but with heels I had tuck all the excess length really awkwardly into my underwear, as it was the only way to make them stay. It was not a very comfortable day to say the least.

I paired this look with the same black pumps and necklace as I did for the meeting.

The T-Shirt and Tights are from Forever 21.
The shoes are from Aldo.
Everything else is from Plum.

I Can’t Get Away From Grey

I kind of feel like you’ve seen me in a lot of grey before…Oh yea, last week. I guess I kind of feel extra grey on Thursdays?

This morning I got up and was in instant panic mode. Today was the day I had to go to the Cancer Clinic to find out the results of my last batch of tests. I was super worried, as per usual. Turns out everything is OK, and for the first time in over a year I can finally say I am CANCER FREE! Woot Woot! It’s good to finally be able to say that!

This is an old top I got a few Spring seasons ago. Plum got a batch of Organic fabric in and we made these really fun tops. They are rouched at the size so they are super flattering for every figure, and I’ve even seen girls wear this as a maternity top. It looked really, really cute! I bought two, one in Navy and one in Brown.

I wore this funky top layered over a white tank, half because you have to and half because I layer everything with a white tank. I paired it with my Charcoal Serena Denim Leggings and my black and white flats. It got a little cooler in the afternoon, so I threw on my grey Plum sweater. I chose the grey because I felt black would be too harsh, and the tones of all these colours blend well.

I also wore my giant clear ball necklace which loves to glow in photos.

This outfit is pretty funky and I just love the fabric that the organic knit top is made out of. It’s great to get some texture in a basic knit!

My Head is Fuzzy

I put this on this morning and Chad laughed at my because he thought I would freeze my but off. “Shorts when its been raining none stop!? Have fun with that!” Oh, I did have fun, thank you!

I definitely felt like a cowgirl today. I love this outfit even if people don’t understand it! Ha, it’s not that hard to understand.

That’s my little herb garden in the corner. It has been suffocated with rain lately and I really hope it doesn’t die. I can’t wait for my big herb pot to be planted! It’s going to be one tasty Summer!

So, I’ve got my over sized Boyfriend shirt layered over a tank top (both purchased at Plum), tucked into my denim shorts (purchased at Heritage 1981), which are worn over my black spotted tights (purchased at Forever 21), tucked into my faux fryes. Did you catch all of that?

The belt is Chads of course, and the necklace he bought me while on a trip to Korea.

Tucking blouses into shorts. It’s genius I tell you.

Today’s pictures actually turned out well, and that makes me happy :)

This post is a good example of how my head is fuzzy.

Cold Sore Death Drama

I woke up this morning feeling like more poop then yesterday. This is why I have made all my pictures darker then normal, to hide how I really feel. Do you also love that I almost never smile and just glare at the camera? Or how about the fact that this bookshelf has become me new favorite background? Is it really my favorite, or am I just that lazy? I blame Chad not being able to take pictures of me from any other location other then the couch.

So yes, today I felt gross. My cold sore kept growing and outside a storm of hail and rain exploded everywhere. It was pretty neat.

When I feel like poo, the first thing I want to do is re-tell myself everything my Nonna has ever said about not catching a cold. This involves wearing layers, always having a sweater on hand, and above all, make sure your chest and neck are covered by a scarf. You know how those pesky colds attack you the minute you expose your neck to the elements! Therefore, today I wore layers, boots to keep my feet warm, a thick sweater and I had my neck and face wrapped in a scarf for most of the day. Very middle of December if you ask me.

This outfit is not very exciting, but I attribute it to saving me from any potential cold attack I may have recieved today.

The tip of my nose is very red, and my hair looks like a helmet.

A  good day indeed!

Beginning, Middle, End

I don’t like days that start off good, but end badly. I especially don’t like days, when half way through, you discover a cold sore forming on the side and tip of your nose. Really, really, Mr. Cold Sore, you had to come and jump around on my face now? I feel like poop :(

I also don’t like days when I come home and find the Husband in bed sick.

10 more days until my Birthday trip to Seattle. Will everyone heal in time!?

I was excited to wear my new printed burn-out top from Oxmo today. It was too cold to wear it with out this little cropped sweater from Off the Wall, so you can’t see the fun sleeves it has. I also wore my navy Serena Denim Leggings.

Silver charms and hooped earings worked well with this outfit. Sometimes I just like to wear a lot of simple silver jewelery.

The weather is still pretty crappy so I had to wear boots, which is very un Spring like. Thankfully they saved my feet from lots of puddles. Maybe this bad weather is getting everyone sick!?

Oddly Enough

I love when Chad takes pictures of me and I end up looking 4 feet tall and preggers, both of which I am not. Interesting…

We spent the majority of the day out at my cousin-in-laws house, with friends, eating food and watching hockey. I need to wear something I knew would be comfortable. Sometimes I wish I owned sweat pants that were classy enough to wear out of the house. I guess my only option would be to buy Lululemons. I should probably do that.

I wore an old printed v-neck t-shirt layered over a long cami and my grey Plum sweater. I opted for my favorite pair of Mavi jeans, the ones with all the ripps, and subsiqently, the only ones that currently fit me. I really need to patch up the back ass hole. Ha.

CHECKERED VANS. I love days spent in Checkered Vans.

It’s hard to tell the colour of my hair in these pictures, but you can tell that the length is definitely shorter.

I looked cuter in person.

Is It 2003 Again?

Hey look, there is pink in my hair! Don’t worry, it’s not permanent, its just a clip on!

I went and had my hair did by Miss Marlee J this morning as I will be participating in her Grad Hair Show next weekend. She dyed my whole head with a beautiful, rich, red-toned colour that is a little darker then my natural colour. I absolutely love it, tho it did take some getting use to seeing my hair so dark. The style she will be doing on my next week has pink in it, so she put the extensions in for me to play with for the week. I love love love them, though others had a different opinion. I’ve always wanted pink in my hair, so I’m excited that I actually have the option to do it now!

Considering the new do, I felt it only appropriate to play up my new ‘punk’ feel.

I love my new hair, and I love it even more when it’s PINK!

The Rain Won’t Stop Me

WooHoo Weekend! Not that there is anything really special planned this weekend, but even still, I’m just excited to have a few days to myself. I’ve had to work over time this week to catch up on all the time I missed due to my many Doctors appointments, so I am looking forward to things getting back to normal this weekend.

This whole ‘April Showers’ business needs to hurry up and end. It’s not fun when it rains all the time, and my newly planted flowers just continue to get soaked. I really wish the sun would come out.

Alicia and I opted for an out door photo shoot even though tha weather wasn’t co-operating.

I wore the pink floral blouse I wore on Valentines day under my grey suit jacket. Both items were purchased at Plum.

I decided to go a bit more ‘street’ then ‘class’ and wore my denim leggings and sneakers. I think it gives a funky look. I also loved that I popped my collar.  Haha!

The umbrella is an Olympic one so its got all the mascots on the side. It’s the cutest thing ever.

I just wish I had a chunky necklace that went with this outfit.

Grey Tones

Hey look, I’m wearing a lot of grey! Haha!

I was kind of apprehensive about doing a head to toe grey outfit today. I thought I might blend in too well with the side walk. I think the reason this grey ensemble actually works is because each piece is a different shade of grey, and each piece had a different texture, therefore adding some dimension to the outfit.

I wore my Charcoal denim leggings from Mavi, a deep v blousy knit top from Plum, and my boyfriend cardigan from Kersh. The only problem with wearing a sweater with this knit top, is the the sweater pushed everything forward and when you aren’t paying attention half of your bra is exposed at any given moment. I had many of those moments today!

The great thing about wearing a monotone outfit like this, is it gives you the perfect canvas for a statement necklace. I purchased this piece from 21 in LA last fall and I have been waiting for the right opportunity to pull it out. The dark tone of Today’s outfit gave me the perfect chance to display such a bright and happy necklace. It’s so colourful; I absolutely love it! Because it is made of metal, it is a bit rough against the skin, but a little pain for a lot of beauty is worth it!

I also wore my black gladiator sandles because they added some interest down below, and the gold buckles matched nicely with the gold chain in the necklace. Unfortunetly, it’s actually not warm enough to have ones feet this exposed. I froze once I left work!

I think this outfit is really fun, enough though it’s really grey!

Cute but Not

First off, I would like to start this post by saying, what the hell happened to these jeans? It wasn’t until I saw these photos that I realized how ill fitting they are. When you are use to skinny jeans like I am, these jeans just don’t cut it. They make my butt and hips look HUGE. Ugh, I hate it. I need to put my sewing skills to use and take them in.

I really liked todays outfit, despite my crappy jeans (sorry Mavi).

I can’t remember where I got this short black jumper from. It’s too short to be a dress but it works as a cute long top. I love pairing it with a white scoop neck t-shirt and great jewelry. Today I wore it with my fuchsia retro sweater and a great sea foam green beaded necklace from Anthropologie.

I paired this all with my pink Keds, because sometimes I like being matchy matchy.

Le sigh, these jeans just ruin this outfit for me :(
