I’m a Grape

For some reason I felt weird in this outfit today. I’m not really sure what it was. Possibly the lighter coloured pants with black boots? For some reason it made me feel hookerish, though, looking at these pictures I don’t really see ‘Hooker’, but who knows. I don’t think I make sense any more.

I know I complain a lot about the weather, but I can’t believe I had to put all my flip flops away and get out my boots again. What the hell is this!?

There is so much to do this week. I am stressing just thinking about it.

Ok so, I wore my grape coloured Plum knit top layered with a white tank top. I had to throw on the giant cocoon Kersh sweater at the last minute do to the chilly temperatures.

I figured I’d never worn my grey leggings and black boots together, so I threw them on. Then I thought I looked like a hooker; then I didn’t care too much about it either way.

I finally remembered to grab this great chain statement necklace I bought last year in L.A. It’s another one of those pieces that I had been saving forever, not quite knowingwhen to wear it. Finally decided just to wear it already, and I’m glad I did! It is so fun and has so many odds and ends attached to it. Every Time I look at it I see something new. It’s such a great necklace!

Looking at these photos, I think the outfit is quite cute, minus the giant sweater.

OK, now I have to run and do way too much laundry :S

Simple Syrup

Birthday Parties! Birthday Parties!

It’s the annual June Birthdays Party at Mama & Papa Ciavarros today. Both Chad and his sister have June Birthdays, as well as other family members, so there is always a big do at his parents house every year. I always forgot how many birthdays there are until we get there and the house is full!

Chad and I were both pretty lazy today. He didn’t get home until 4 this morning, from his night out with the boys, and then we lay in bed chatting for a while. I didn’t fall back to sleep until 5:30, so both him and I were kind of zombies today.

The T-shirt I’m wearing today, I originally bought in white only. There are so many cute things that come in and out of the warehouse here, that I don’t always get a chance to grab and look at everything. I love this t-shirt and should have bought it in more colours. Lucky for me, when I hit up Plum on Friday night they had one left in grey in my size! Talk about meant to be. I was so excited!

I kept it simple today as I wanted to wear my Pandora necklace since Chads Mom hadn’t seen it on my since she bought me my new beads.

It Showered for the Bride

Tonight was my cousins Bridal Shower. I hosted it at my Moms since shes got all the room. We decorated everything in her bridal colours – Purple and Silver – two of my favorite colours for the season. There was way too much food as usual and lots of very pretty gifts.

I had no idea what to wear today. The weather is still so crappy but I really wanted to wear a dress. Only problem is all my dresses are either really fancy or really summery, none of which fit today’s occasion. Thankfully I managed to find this Old Navy dress in the back of my closet. I somehow always forget that I have it.

I always wear tights with it because I feel like my butt is going to be exposed at any given moment. I originally had full length nylons on, but I felt it looked too dressed up (because I am crazy) so I went for my cropped tights.

I wore a white cami underneath and decided to pop some colour into the outfit with my turquoise stone necklace and ring.

I had to stop by IGA on my way to my Moms, and even though I really wanted to wear sandals, I knew everyone in the store would look at my like I was nuts, so I wore giant boots that did not go with this outfit at all, but kept my feet warm and dry. I went barefoot once I got to my Moms though!

It’s time for barefoot weather.

It’sa Friday!

I don’t really know what happened today. It didn’t feel like a Friday so I was all off kilter. Work got a bit insane in the afternoon which made the time pass, which is always good on a Friday afternoon. After dinner we went to the Plum store on Granville for a little shopping and to meet up with Suzy, a blogger friend from the great land of England. The 3 of us then spent the rest of the evening drinking wine and watching bad TV. A nice relaxing Friday night.

This rain is really putting a damper on my Spring Fashion.

I’m Pine, How Are You?

We had dinner at my Parents tonight. Chad had to fix my Dads computer which is located in my old bedroom so I spent a chunk reliving old memories. It was weird.

I also began to realize how much PINE is in my room. Scratch that, the whole HOUSE. My Parents are Pine addicts. But it’s OK because all the Pine acted as an interesting background for me.

I’ve worn this striped sweater / boyfriend jean combination before, but in a different way. Today I decided to wear it with a couple Kersh tank tops layered and a long necklace, the one I got from Plum not too long ago. It went so well with the sweater as the shell like beads were both blue and silver. It’s like they were made for each other.

I know I have no shoes in the pictrue, but I was wearing my little target sandles in black. I need to find something in navy and sSilver though, because I have a lot of navy/blue pieces and it bugs me to wear black with them. That will be my next Target look out purchase.

For now, I feel like I need to go hug a tree or something.

Into the Grey Wide Open

I was feeling pretty emo today. Maybe that’s why I’ve got no colour going on. I wasn’t feeling it at work, and I really just want to go back to bed. Then the boss came in, took one look at me and told me how much she loved my outfit…3 times. I didn’t even know what to say! I really did not think this outfit was anything out of the ordinary for me, and I really didn’t expect it to garner such a reaction. But I guess it’s days when you don’t think you look amazing that someone else does. I still don’t know what was so great about this look, but I loved the reaction I got! It was just what I needed.

I really really love this over sized knit top though. There are so many different ways you can wear it and style it. I love the way it just hangs off my body and fun it is to wear.

I also love the combination of the two heather greys in my jacket and top.

Back to the Grind

It’s Monday, not wait it’s Tuesday, no wait…I’m confused.

All day long I couldn’t figure out what day it was. Long weekends do that you me it seems, but never this  bad. I must have been really out of it today.

I made Tacos for dinner and they were really good. I really love Tacos you know. I could eat them all the time.

I decided to wear a suit jacket today. It’s felt like a long time since I last wore it. It’s so cute but I always kind of feel awkward wearing it. Maybe that’s just because I am awkward in general. I guess it didn’t help that my A-line t-shirt paired with the cut of this jacket made my hips look massive (I deleted all proof). I was excited to wear my ‘Amalfi Coast’ scarf however. I was going to save it until Italy, but then I realized how stupid that was and so I finally wore it. I did the same thing when I went to Mexico. I bought things in May for my trip in September and didn’t want to wear any of it until the actual trip came.

I’m such a nut bar.

I rolled up my Royal leggings. It’s the only way to wear them with these sneakers. You have to have the right amount of skin showing between your hem and your shoe otherwise it looks weird. Or at least I think it does anyways.

Also please note that I am wearing a dangly earring. I know, I know. These ones and my silver hoops are the only ones I actually think look good on me.

SWEATPANTS!

Today, being that it is a holiday, means I am sitting in sweat pants all day.

We went for a walk this morning around Central Park in Burnaby, which was nice and refreshing. Then we spent the afternoon doing nothing but watching Mad Men episodes. It was glorious.

Sometimes you just need really lazy days like that.

I also felt that I was having a bad face day, so I really didn’t want to leave the couch at all.

I need more days like this!

Food for All

Well, I just finished hosting both parentals in a food fest extravaganza. I’ve never done so many dishes in my life! I am beat.

We spent all day preparing and everything was a success, I just have no energy left! Haha.
