A 50th Anniversary

Well, today calls for some celebrating and fancy outfits. My grandparents (Nonno & Nonna) are celebrating their 50th Wedding anniversary!

The fam went out for an amazing dinner at Darios La Piazza in Vancouver at the Italian Center. We’ve known the family that owns and runs the restaurant forever, and every time we go there we are blown away with how good the food was. I can’t stop thinking about my dinner!

I decided on one of my favorite ‘fancy’ summer dresses from Kensie. The print is adroable and there beads and crystals sewen around the top of the dress.

I paired it with a brightly coloured fuchsia sweater from Kersh, since it was a bit cool out. The pop of colour works well with the dress.

As for shoes, I wore a pair of white sling back wedges that I bought at Payless last year. They are a bit of a pain when you wear them all day long, but for an evening they are perfect!

I quite like this look on me!

Oh Surrey

Surprise last minute dinner in the real ‘burbs tonight. I think the parentals of Mr. & Mrs. T are going to get a little annoyed that we keep getting invited over for din din and they still haven’t! Oh well.

I’m glad this week is over. There was a lot of stuff that had to get done, and did get done, but I still feel like there could have been more done. I’m just a nut case like that. I’m hoping to get rid of a huge pile of magazines I have accumulating on my floor at home. It’s been sitting there for WAY too long.

The weather was all whacked when I got up this morning so this outfit doesn’t make any sense.

Printed T from the Garage, I think I bought this when I was in grade 12 or something. I can’t really remember.
White Tank from Plum
Navy Mavi Denim Leggings
Charcoal Kersh Cocoon Sweater
Flip Flops

See, none of that makes any sense.

Get Down with the Police

Straight up, best outfit ever. Haha I know, but I love it!

The Chanel inspired sweater from Dex that I bought last year is so warm and cozy. I have no idea why I don’t wear it more. I only ever wore it with one outfit, and I got stuck in that rut. I finally busted out of it and now I want to wear it with everything. Plus it’s grey and black so you really can wear it with everything.

Sometimes you have too many clothes in your closet and you forget about certain pieces that you love, even though they stare you in the face every single day.

I’m also totally obsessed with these jeans (which I know I’ve mentioned before). They are so awesome, plus they are a size smaller then I’ve been buying which makes me so happy! They are the second pair of pants I’ve bought in the last month that are a size smaller then normal. Looks like all those post dinner walks are paying off!

You can never go wrong with a band t-shirt, and given that I have so many of them, they are usually my first choice. Band T-shirts are so much better then they use to be. Someone in the Merch department gets two thumbs up for actually producing cool Ts that fit and are stylin!

I love every aspect of this outfit! SO ME!

Blue Me, Blue You

Today is Wednesday. That kind of feels weird for some reason.

We went shopping tonight. I wanted to buy new flip flops because the ones I’m wearing are death traps. If there is a little bit of water on the ground I will slip and kill myself. Happened at Ryan & Elise’s wedding. I know it’s not very smart to look for new flip flops at the end of the season, but I’m not very smart in general. Old Navy was sold out of everything except Neon Pink & Orange, and size 10s. Thanks, but that doesn’t work for me. Chad was with me so I didn’t want to drag him all over the mall so I just gave up.

Next Summer – MUST FIND FLIP FLOPS.

I feel like I have already worn this exact same outfit. I guess it wouldn’t take too much effort to just go back and check, but I’m really that lazy/busy.

I just love this striped Kersh sweater so much. Le sigh, it’s dreamy and soft.

Mavi Boyfriend Jeans and an Esprit top all from Plum cause I don’t actually shop anywhere else it seems. You just can’t be a one stop shop.

I need to rid myself of these flip flops of death.

Keepin It Cool Style

Busy days keep coming and going. Spring 2011 is in full swing with new fabrics arriving in our warehouse daily. I feel the pressure to try and organize as much stuff as humanly possible before I leave fore Italy. Plus, it seems like the more I organize the easier the season goes for everybody, and since I love to organize it works out well.

Even though this outfit is very monotone in colour, I felt it was kind of cool. A half tucked in oversized T always gives off a bit of attitude.

I know it’s very simple, but I just kind of love it. The shades all kind of go together, and my teal belt matches the peacock feather.

Plus, I am somehow having an amazing hair day.

Do You Really Want to Skirt Me?

This skirt is kind of hard to pair with tops other then a basic coloured tank top. The skirt itself has so much going on with it, I’m kind of stumped with what to do.

Similarly to the last time I wore this, I chose a basic tank top, this time in white. In order to add a bit of drama to the outfit, I wore my necklace made of Lucite balls. They are always fun to throw onto an outfit. They go with everything because they are transparent and pick up the colours of what you are wearing.

It’s very cute and fun for Summer. I definitly felt fancy prancing around the offic today.

I love little outfits like this.

Holy Mother of Heat

Today I died. Straight up, DEAD. The fan broke last night so we melted as we attempted to sleep. Today we has our family picnic, under the shade of a tree, but it was still way too hot.

I now also know why you are suppose to wear blousy tops when it’s not out and not body fitting tank tops. I might as well have glued the tank top to my body it kept me so frigging warm. NOT SMART. I had heat delusions while getting dressed this morning.

A Ride Around the Park

I spent the majority of this very hot Saturday working away in my moms basement, something I seem to being a lot of lately. Thankfully the basement is nice and cool so I didn’t melt too much.

Chad was having a boys night out, so since I was already at my parents house, I decided to join them on a bike ride around Stanley Park since it had been quite some time since I had been there. I got to use my Moms bike that she brought back from Italy in 1979 when she visited her family there after graduating high school. The bike folded up and fit in her suitcase, that’s how cool it is.

Parking Lot Party

First of all, I did not realize that the bra I was wearing made my boobs look that big. Kind of ridiculous!

Second of all, it is Friday. Thank you Friday.

I’ve basically spent all day in air conditioning, which is very good. My car is air conditioned less, but we went to a pub tonight for a friends birthday and we stayed cool all through the evening!

I bought this top last year at Plums famous Summer Side Walk Sale. For some reason it’s been hanging in my closet ever since. Not really sure why because it is the perfect top to wear on a hot summers day. It is so light and breathable it’s like heaven! Plus, the colour is just gorgeous.

I knew it was going to be a steamer today, so I paired it with grey shorts, and had a oatmeal coloured cardi on this morning, for the cooler morning air. It matched my outmeal coloured heart earrings. So cute!

A very simple two piece outfit, but hot days you don’t really want to wear much more!

White Girl in a White Dress

I probably shouldn’t wear a giant white dress when I have spent zero days in the sun and am just as white as paper. Sometimes I forget just how pale I am until I stand next to someone who has sat in the sun for hours. Yea, I may look ridiculous in the middle of summer, but at least I won’t be wrinkled and full of skin cancer when I get older!

This dress I bought at Plum a couple years ago when I need dresses for bridal showers and wedding parties. I felt it fitting that I have a white dress to wear other then my wedding dress.

This one is beautiful. It buttons up the back and has a self tie at the empire waist, which you can switch out of any kind of skinny belt. It’s a bit long on me, but I don’t want to hem it and ruin the beautiful embroidery.

I wore this dress with a green beaded necklace from Anthropologie and some ‘old’ green wedges from Payless.

It is such a beautiful summer dress, I just feel so WHITE in it!
