Oh No You Didn’t

Today is a perfect example of those days where you looked good leaving the house, but don’t look so good coming home. Tip for anyone who ever decided to take on a project like this, take your photos in the morning right after you get ready and you will look your best! DO NOT wait until 6pm on a Friday and think you will look just as refreshed and glowing as you did in the morning.

Fridays have been a disaster at work the last little while. You would expect them to be relaxing, but no.

Also, my hair looks like a greasy rats nest in these photos. FAIL.

But anyways, lets talk about my outfit.

Boyfriend Blouse + Boyfriend Cardigan = New Favorite Layered Look. Chad actually thought I was wearing one of his shirts when I got dressed this morning. Priceless.

I layered this look with a long white T because that is my signature, and this outfit was looking a little too dark for my liking. Yoga Jeans and black boots covered my lower half, and a trinket filled necklace covered my neck scar. I was clearly a little too inspired by yesterdays jewellery selection and went over bored today. See, I am so all about less instead of more. I feel over done just because I wore a necklace with this outfit. Crazy, I know.

Prancing around in this was fun today.

Hobos On The Outside

There are so many jobs on the go. So many things that need to be done. I guess it’s the season of events, and parties, and business. I already feel the stress of not having my Christmas Cards out and it is only the SECOND of December. Don’t even get me started.

The Sun came out today, which was a nice change of pace. It warmed us up enough to take pictures outside. A welcomes change of scenery.

Today I wore an old sweater from Plum, back in the day when we use to produce our own sweaters. This one is a mix of Black and Brown, with a hood and kangaroo pocket. Super cute if you ask me! I wore it with a long white T and my speckled Dish Jeans & Chuck Taylors.

Sometimes, in the rush of the morning, I tend to ignore the obvious need for accessories. I think it is clear that I am a ‘less is more’ kind of girl. Today, however, I went for osmething a bit more bold, something a little more unexpected for this outfit. Large wooden beads in Blue did the trick.

Who said blue balls were a bad thing?

Skull Head

I love my skull sweater, though it seems to be one of those pieces you either really love, or you really don’t. Oh 60 year old Finnish pattern maker does NOT like this sweater. Hahaha, she is so blunt about it!

I have this think with buttoning crew neck sweater at the top, and just letting them hang open. I just love the way they look.

Today I paired my Skill Sweater with a basic white T, Charcoal Denim Leggings and my black boots.

To add in some extra fun, I grabbed my Moms big square plastic earrings from the 80s. They definitely make a statement!

You don’t wanna meet me at the end of a dark alley!

Plaid Monsters

Sometimes there is a reason why you put a certain outfit on, and other times you just blindly search your closet as you are already running late because you slept in and what you just happen to grab is what you are going to wear. My only real thought today was that it was raining like a mother and I didn’t want to get wet, so I wore these boots. They are my “protect your feet from water and gross things” boots. I basically treat these boots like rain boots, or work boots. They are water proof and never ruin.

Black and Buffalo Plaid was the theme of today. I think I need to start replacing some of my denim leggings, because I have just worn the hell out of most of them. My Navy ones which are my usual go to feel as though they are slowly dying, so I had to opt for my black ones today. It’s kind of sad that some clothes die so quickly. I don’t want to get rid of them and  have to spend the money to replace them, but they are dying, so what choice do I have?

Oh the hardships of fashion.

Accessory wise, today I wore some leather bracelets from Plum, my Mini Key necklace Matt made me, and a printed hair pin from Anthropologie.

You Seam To Have A Lot Of Pockets

Today was kind of an experimental outfit.

These are the Mavi Cargo leggings that we are now selling at Plum. As soon as I saw them I bought them. I wasn’t 100% sure on the colour, but it was all that we were offered so I took it. No sooner did I do that, but a much more appealing camo green colour came into the warehouse. DAMN! But, it’s ok, this forces me to get outside my camo green comfort zone. The only trouble I am having, is I know how to style colours around camo green because I use to wear it so often. These ‘earth’ coloured leggings are a bit more difficult. They are browny/rosy in colour and I am just stumped.

Today I attempted them with an over sized charcoal Plum T layered with a white tank underneath, so that when I moved around, a pop of white would show. I then belted the T-shirt with a soft, golden coloured belt, and wore dark wooden necklace. A lot of random going on, but it kind of went together. Definitely an experiment.

I also wore my nude sandles because I litterally have the crappiest shoe collection ever – minus my vans of course. I REALLY need to invest in some fashion shoes this Fall.

Day 240-1

Party at the Heagles

Today was a busy, busy day!

Chad, his sister and I hosted a 60th birthday for his parents at his grandparents house today. Lots of work was put into this by everyone. Tons of food, wine, and good times.

I was able to sneak away for a quick photo in the hall. It’s somewhat embarrassing taking photos of your outfit in front of 40 family and friends!

Yes, today I repeated an outfit, but I love this one so I just had to do it again.

I changed it up this time around by wearing a cream cardi from Forever 21, a brown leather belt, smoke agoya shell necklace, and some flip flops. I totally felt like I was on vacation or going on a safari. I just LOVE this outfit!

I wish I had gotten a couple more shots, but oh well. Time to go hunting for some Lions!

Keepin It Cool Style

Busy days keep coming and going. Spring 2011 is in full swing with new fabrics arriving in our warehouse daily. I feel the pressure to try and organize as much stuff as humanly possible before I leave fore Italy. Plus, it seems like the more I organize the easier the season goes for everybody, and since I love to organize it works out well.

Even though this outfit is very monotone in colour, I felt it was kind of cool. A half tucked in oversized T always gives off a bit of attitude.

I know it’s very simple, but I just kind of love it. The shades all kind of go together, and my teal belt matches the peacock feather.

Plus, I am somehow having an amazing hair day.

Do You Really Want to Skirt Me?

This skirt is kind of hard to pair with tops other then a basic coloured tank top. The skirt itself has so much going on with it, I’m kind of stumped with what to do.

Similarly to the last time I wore this, I chose a basic tank top, this time in white. In order to add a bit of drama to the outfit, I wore my necklace made of Lucite balls. They are always fun to throw onto an outfit. They go with everything because they are transparent and pick up the colours of what you are wearing.

It’s very cute and fun for Summer. I definitly felt fancy prancing around the offic today.

I love little outfits like this.

Holy Mother of Heat

Today I died. Straight up, DEAD. The fan broke last night so we melted as we attempted to sleep. Today we has our family picnic, under the shade of a tree, but it was still way too hot.

I now also know why you are suppose to wear blousy tops when it’s not out and not body fitting tank tops. I might as well have glued the tank top to my body it kept me so frigging warm. NOT SMART. I had heat delusions while getting dressed this morning.

Parking Lot Party

First of all, I did not realize that the bra I was wearing made my boobs look that big. Kind of ridiculous!

Second of all, it is Friday. Thank you Friday.

I’ve basically spent all day in air conditioning, which is very good. My car is air conditioned less, but we went to a pub tonight for a friends birthday and we stayed cool all through the evening!

I bought this top last year at Plums famous Summer Side Walk Sale. For some reason it’s been hanging in my closet ever since. Not really sure why because it is the perfect top to wear on a hot summers day. It is so light and breathable it’s like heaven! Plus, the colour is just gorgeous.

I knew it was going to be a steamer today, so I paired it with grey shorts, and had a oatmeal coloured cardi on this morning, for the cooler morning air. It matched my outmeal coloured heart earrings. So cute!

A very simple two piece outfit, but hot days you don’t really want to wear much more!
