The Police

The office is now half empty since our designer and buyer have gone off to LA for work. This allows Alicia and I to chit chat more! But we still get all our work done so it’s not like we really slack off or anything; every things just a little more relaxed. In a few months I get to accompany our designer, Claudia, on the next LA buying trip. This will be my second experience and we are both, really looking forward to it.

In other news…

I have this box in my closet where I keep all my old Band t-shirts. I went through this phase where I bought a shirt at every concert I ever went too. I guess tenchincally I still do that, I just haven’t been to a concert in a really long time. Anyways, I went to put something away in this box and found this t-shirt I bought at the Police concert I went to with a friend. I never wore because it was too big for me. Well, lucky for me over sized t-shirts are all the rage right now!

I wore my Police t-shirt with a white tank top underneath. I layered it with my grey sweater I bought at Plum.

Yoga jeans and Faux Fryes with a single strand of Pearls.

I wore my hair in a high bun like a Librarian. I have discovered this is my new favorite look.

My D&G glasses just to keep it classy.

I love random closet finds. Turns out this t-shirt isn’t all that big at all and will definitely become a part of my daily rotation!

Score!

Basement Wonders

The first Saturday in what feels like forever that Chad and I both had off, I had a girls night planned with my cousins. Bad planning on my part, but it wasn’t a total waste. Got a bunch of stuff done during the day while Chad was sleeping in, we had dinner together, and then met up after movie night with the cousins.

Now, in knowing I was going over to my cousins to laze around and watch movies, and then meet up with Chad at my other cousins house to laze around and drink beer, I was more then tempted to wear sweat pants, but then that wouldn’t have been very fashionable of me now would it have!

I grabbed one of my ultimate favorite t-shirt from one of my ultimate favorite bands, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The RHCP logo in red is actually made of velvet. Its so soft and such a great textured detail on this otherwise simple t-shirt. I layered the black Kersh boyfriend cardigan over top of it, and paired it with my Mavi denim leggings and Frye boots.

I knew the outfit needed a little something, something to make it pop and then all of a sudden it hit me. I’ve been looking for the perfect brown belt to wear with jeans for quite a while now. I was actually planning to go to Value Village this week to see if they had anything there. I wanted the brown to be very rich, worn, and on the lighter side of the colour spectrum, like the brown boots I have. Then I realized that Chad had the perfect belt that embodied everything I was looking for. He doesn’t wear it very often and he wasn’t wearing it tonight so I knew I could steal it.

It was a little long but it worked with my outfit perfectly. I think it’s safe to say that I am now obsessed with this belt!

This is one of my favorite outfits to date because this so undoubtedly me. If you were to describe me in an outfit, all you would have to do is point at these pictures. My favorite outfit on my favorite numbered day. 37 all the way!

Rock Star Chic

I felt like being a Rock Star today. Maybe it was the good hair day. Maybe it was the song I woke up to on the radio. Maybe it was just the fact that its been too damn long since I was a Rock Star!

I wanted to layer a bunch of busy pieces on top of each other so I went to my pile of band t-shirts and grabbed the Led Zeppelin one Chad brought me back from his trip to Sweden a few years ago. Led Zeppelin is his favorite band and he said he always wanted to make out with a chick wearing a Zeppelin t-shirt. Hence the meaning behind the gift, hahaha!

I layered it over a white tank top, again because everything I wear is too short for my torso, and then threw on my black Boyfriend Cardigan from Kersh, as a simple, solid, outline.

My layering piece is a colourful hankerchief scarf I bought last Spring at Plum. I love the colours in it, and how they brightened up the dark grey of the t-shirt. There is a lot going on at once, but there is something about it that just works.

As for bottoms, I have my Second Yoga Jeans and my faux Fryes to round out the look.

For an accessory I wore a black beaded bracelet that I bought at Vallue Village. I love this bracelet because it can be worn to give an outfit some edge, but it can also be worn to give an outfit some class. I have worn it in both ways and it has looked awesome!

Now all I need is a fancy guitar.
