Vintage For Reals

When my Mom was cleaning out my brothers closet she came upon this old sweater. This sweater just happens to by my Uncles sweater from 1975. Yes, thats right, he wore it when he was 8 years old.

Mom had put it in a pile waiting to go to Good Will. I, however, had other plans for it.

No one believed me that it would fit, but I knew it would.

I wore it to dinner tonight and got so many compliments on it. I love this sweater!

I paired my Vintage look with a long white T, AE Jeans, brown leather belt from Italy and my brown boots. Blue, Orange, Brown. It all works together so perfectly.

Thank God for Vintage Finds!

CHRISTMAS EVE!

Well, I’ve made it to Christmas Eve. That is always a good sign!

Chad and I did a bit of running around today and then headed off to Church for Midnight  Mass. No fancy dinner or parties tonight, just quite times.

Can you see all the presents packed up and ready to take to Chads parents house tomorrow morning? We are so prepared!

My outfit for this evening didn’t happen, so what you are looking at is outfit number 2. Remember when I talked about all my Plum skirts being too long, and I had to hem a bunch in the Summer? Well, I left the pencil skirts thinking they would be ok, but the truth is, they are not ok. I’m going to need to hem those too :S

So, my Christmas Eve outfit consist of a Purple Tank Top for Bootlegger, Leopard Sweater from Plum, Stripped Pencil Skirt from Plum, Leggings, and Black heels from Aldo.

The silver belt and small silver necklace are also Plum purchases.

I want to open presents now!

Forest Greens

I gotta do something about this cold weather. I need to invest in some very furry, fuzzy, warm pieces or I might just waste away and freeze.

My sickness was affecting my normal body temperature today and I was freezing cold. Wearing my Italian Poncho was definitely in order. I styled it differently today so that Chad couldn’t accuse me of looking like a giant garbage bag. I’ve seen Alicia do this when styling things for work, so I tried it out. A simple thin gold belt and it added some definition to my waist but still allowed the poncho to fall as it is suppose to. I think it looks quite nice belted, and I will probably always wear it like this now! I love the cowl neck and the way it drapes.

A white long sleeve top worked perfectly under the poncho.

Navy Mavi Denim Leggings and Brown Boots worked perfectly with the ensemble, and a pair of Antique Brass earrings that were gifted to me added that little bit of bling.

This was the perfect comfy yet stylish outfit to be sick in! Haha!

The Black Princess

Yes yes, the Black Princess is back, and by that I don’t mean anything other then the fact that I like to wear black. Fridays trends hung on until today.

I am starting to feel under the weather, which is never a good thing. However, if I do have to get sick, I prefer it to happen now and NOT next week. Being sick at Christmas is pretty much the worst thing ever, and the last few years I always seem to be gross right around it.

Nothing uber exciting happened today, especially in the fashion department. I just like being Black.

The top is from American Apparel, and I wore it with a grey T from Plum. My Dish Jeans and Chuck Taylors you clearly know by now.

I threw on my Florence Leather Belt because I love the colour and forgot how much I enjoy wearing belts for the pop of colour they provide.

The headband is from Forever 21. I can never wear headbands because the pressure on my head gives me a headache. Yes, even the slight pressure of a headband does me in every time. My head is just that sensitive. I have to take it off every couple hours just to make sure I didn’t explode!

Such difficulties in life ;)

A Table for Two

In sticking with the disaster theme, lets talk about how ghetto these photos are and how I look like I need help in both of them. Danielle you FAIL.

I had to plan an outfit that would work in two different establishments. 1) Fancy enough for dinner at the Pear Tree 2) Casual enough for Alicias Birthday Party at Academic. I think I succeeded.

Though you can’t really see, I wore two tank tops layered over each other, blousing one out, so I could have it partially tucked in as to make the belt visible. I then layered it with a Royal coloured Kersh Sweater I purchased from Plum many years ago. To  the restaurant I wore a simple black and white heart scarf to class up my neck area.

I wanted to stay away from skinny jeans and boots this time around, so I went for my Dish Wide Leg Jeans and some black heels (which you clearly can not see).

I think it all looked quite cute together, but you can’t tell because I am making a horrible face.

I love the contrast of the belt to the blue in the jeans and sweater. Favorite!

Next time, I promise to take better photos.

The Night of the Pizza with out Potatoes

We had a four some with Adam and Alicia tonight. And by four some I mean we watched hockey and ate pizza while wearing work apparel. The sight of seeing Chad and Adam in work suits sitting on the couch eating pizza is just funny to me.

Todays outfit was inspired by this top that I also bought at H&M in Italy. Its a very simple scoop neck striped T with rouched sleeves. I’ve been avoiding the ‘attention to shoulder’ trend given the fact that mine are so ‘large’, but when I saw this top, I just had to have it.

Something about it screamed – RETRO – to me, so I had to dress it up with a 70s feel.

I wore the T-Shirt tucked into a pair of flared Dish jeans with a leather belt I bought at the Florence Leather Market. A simple long silver chain and black boots completed the look.

I must say I am totally obsessed with 1) the top, 2) tucking it in, and 3) the way the brown belt looks.

I know this isn’t something that is totally ‘out there’, but its definitely not something I would usually put together.

Score 5 points for experimenting with looks!

Beach Resort Alert

Spent some time in Cefalu today. Chad did a bit of a swim and I collected super tiny sea shells. Kind of a magical day when you think about it. Even though I’ve worn this dress before, everyone who saw it today (our parentals) complimented me on it separately. Who would have though!

You Seam To Have A Lot Of Pockets

Today was kind of an experimental outfit.

These are the Mavi Cargo leggings that we are now selling at Plum. As soon as I saw them I bought them. I wasn’t 100% sure on the colour, but it was all that we were offered so I took it. No sooner did I do that, but a much more appealing camo green colour came into the warehouse. DAMN! But, it’s ok, this forces me to get outside my camo green comfort zone. The only trouble I am having, is I know how to style colours around camo green because I use to wear it so often. These ‘earth’ coloured leggings are a bit more difficult. They are browny/rosy in colour and I am just stumped.

Today I attempted them with an over sized charcoal Plum T layered with a white tank underneath, so that when I moved around, a pop of white would show. I then belted the T-shirt with a soft, golden coloured belt, and wore dark wooden necklace. A lot of random going on, but it kind of went together. Definitely an experiment.

I also wore my nude sandles because I litterally have the crappiest shoe collection ever – minus my vans of course. I REALLY need to invest in some fashion shoes this Fall.

A Leopard for You, A Leopard for Me

We had dinner at the rents tonight for our last meeting before Italy.

I spent the morning at the spa, treating myself to a most amazing facial. My sink feels so awesome now, so I am quite content!

I spent the rest of the day catching up on things around the house, before getting dressed to go to dinner. I kind of kept the outfit simple and accessory less, other then the belt.

White Plum Tank Top
Navy Cotton Slub Cardi
Charcoal Mavi Serena Denim Leggings
Plum Leopard Belt
Black Sandals

Sometimes simple is best, and I like the way it turned out today.

The Sun Has Gone

You can tell Fall is around the corner when the deck starts to decay. When it rains hard all the water washes all the dirt and grime to the edge of the deck and then it dries up and sits there. Pretty ghetto if you ask me. The hanging basket is dead, and only one of the planters is actually thriving. The herbs are growing like weeds, so at least I will be able to keep those for longer.

Today was definitely more relaxing compared to yesterday. I just really would like my vacation to start now!

I guess no matter what, when you are tiny and you have a giant knit top on, no matter how you tie it you just end up looking like a sack of fabric. Today was a good example.

To add a bit of colour to this sack attack, I wore a long purple tank top underneath that poked out at the bottom and top of my over sized tank.

Cropped leggings that my Ma bought me in California, and my favourite sandals make my Thursday.

Silver jewelry added a bit of class, to an otherwise class this outfit! haha
