Forest Greens

I gotta do something about this cold weather. I need to invest in some very furry, fuzzy, warm pieces or I might just waste away and freeze.

My sickness was affecting my normal body temperature today and I was freezing cold. Wearing my Italian Poncho was definitely in order. I styled it differently today so that Chad couldn’t accuse me of looking like a giant garbage bag. I’ve seen Alicia do this when styling things for work, so I tried it out. A simple thin gold belt and it added some definition to my waist but still allowed the poncho to fall as it is suppose to. I think it looks quite nice belted, and I will probably always wear it like this now! I love the cowl neck and the way it drapes.

A white long sleeve top worked perfectly under the poncho.

Navy Mavi Denim Leggings and Brown Boots worked perfectly with the ensemble, and a pair of Antique Brass earrings that were gifted to me added that little bit of bling.

This was the perfect comfy yet stylish outfit to be sick in! Haha!

Day 246-1

Hangin Out at the Fair

My face is totally wonking in the picture. Not sure what the heck happened.

We went to the Fair at the PNE tonight. It was super busy but fun to hang around none the less. My favourite part is, as always, the Super Dogs and Farm!

Todays Day to Night outfit included a very fun, oversized tank top that I got from a sample sale. The picture doesn’t really do it justice. Its really neat how it hangs off the body. I layered it with a simple whit tank and then, due to the chili evening air, topped it over with a 3/4 length sleeved Boyfriend Cardi from Kersh.

I decided to wear my Second Yoga Jeans rolled up at the hem so they were kind of ‘cropped’. Birkenstocks matched the outfit so I had to go with them.

A pop of colour and fun with a floral statement necklace from Forever 21 made the outfit 10 times less boring. One last touch of Summer!

High Stress Low Fashion

Today was a very insane day in the head of ME. A lot of stuff was going on and when I woke up this morning, the last thing I was worried about was how I looked.

I was wearing way more accessories and then took them all of as the day went on. What I was left with was a pair of Mavi Denim Leggings, Hollister T-Shirt and a Kersh Sweater. Not very creative at all.

When you are a walking tornato there is really no point in attempting to look good, cause everything is just going to blow off in the end!

The Black Stripes

So it’s Monday, but I technically didn’t have a ‘weekend’ so I don’t really know what day it feels like today.

I left my suitcase in a giant pile in my bedroom and probably won’t get to it until tomorrow night. Oh well.

I still feel behind the 8 ball today, so I was lazy with my outfit choice. I was way stressed this morning over what I was going to find when I got to work. Mild crisis, solved by the end of the day. Thank God.

Black Kersh Boyfriend Sweater
Dish Jeans
Keds

My hair is kind of a disaster and makes me look like a boy in the last photo. Not a fan.

Tomorrow will be a better day.

Bringing It Back Again

Holy Moly, I put some effort into things today!

It’s a bit of a throw back to an outfit I’ve done before, based around the same blouse. I love it, but like I said before, it only looks good with a sweater over top. Damn poofy sleeves!

This time around I paired it with my long grey Boyfriend Cardigan and a maroon snake skin belt from Value Village.

Royal Denim Leggings act as the pop of colour in this outfit and the brown boot make a nice contrast.

My hair was all down and wavy for most of the day, but of course, working late and stressing out meant I had to put it up in a bun. Ended up looking cute enough to photograph!

My new favourite wire cuff is from Plum as well.

One more day left in this crazy work week!

The Magic of Good Lighting

See what a little SUN does!? It makes everything look so much nicer; especially my FACE. Haha.

Sometimes, well, most of the time, the photos I take inside our little apartment don’t turn out so well. I wish I had a better camera and time to go to fun locations, but those just aren’t options at the moment. Thankfully a little sun and the outdoors does wonders for photographing outfits!

It’s good to be back in the swing of things. It always seems to take us a while to recoup after camping. Must be all the sleeping on the ground.

I know it’s not hot enough yet (even though its June) but I’ve be dying to get into all my tank tops and sleeves blouses. I finally said Screw It and grabbed one of my favorite.

I got this stripped tank top from one of the infamous sample sales. I love it because not only is it stripped, it’s also grey! Amazing!

The top scoops down quite low so it is essential that I layer it, but that’s OK because it looks quite awesome layered.

I had to wear a sweater, so I chose my black boyfriend cardigan. Just because it is sunny doesn’t mean it is warm!

Navy denim leggings, Walmart flats, and my classic wire heart make for a great  Monday!

Food for All

Well, I just finished hosting both parentals in a food fest extravaganza. I’ve never done so many dishes in my life! I am beat.

We spent all day preparing and everything was a success, I just have no energy left! Haha.

This was today’s uniform.

Now I am going to BED!

It’s Snowing in Red Deer, But Not Here

Colourrrrrrs! Other then my grey sweater, I’m actually wearing colours! Yay! I love the brightness and combination of all these colours.

Feeling springy, I went for my Royal denim leggings and thought it would be fun to match it with a colourful Dex tunic I bought last year from Plum.

Sometimes with tunics like this, or dresses, that have spaghetti straps and are meant to fit really well in the bust, I feel way too self conscious to wear it just on its own. Plus, a lot of times they just don’t fit me well in the bust area, or cover enough. A great solution I’ve found is to wear a basic tank top underneath or a scoop neck t-shirt. You need the right shirt with the right neck line to pull it off, but it acts as a great comfort piece and ensures you don’t fall out everywhere. Plus, on days that are a little chill, it adds that extra layer. I’ve got a couple dresses like this, and wearing a scoop neck tank or t-shirt is my staple.

I threw on my Kersh Boyfriend Cardigan as a great basic cover up that is still light enough to not make me look like I’m ready for winter.

Black flats and my silver seagull keep this outfit fresh and fun!

Grey Tones

Hey look, I’m wearing a lot of grey! Haha!

I was kind of apprehensive about doing a head to toe grey outfit today. I thought I might blend in too well with the side walk. I think the reason this grey ensemble actually works is because each piece is a different shade of grey, and each piece had a different texture, therefore adding some dimension to the outfit.

I wore my Charcoal denim leggings from Mavi, a deep v blousy knit top from Plum, and my boyfriend cardigan from Kersh. The only problem with wearing a sweater with this knit top, is the the sweater pushed everything forward and when you aren’t paying attention half of your bra is exposed at any given moment. I had many of those moments today!

The great thing about wearing a monotone outfit like this, is it gives you the perfect canvas for a statement necklace. I purchased this piece from 21 in LA last fall and I have been waiting for the right opportunity to pull it out. The dark tone of Today’s outfit gave me the perfect chance to display such a bright and happy necklace. It’s so colourful; I absolutely love it! Because it is made of metal, it is a bit rough against the skin, but a little pain for a lot of beauty is worth it!

I also wore my black gladiator sandles because they added some interest down below, and the gold buckles matched nicely with the gold chain in the necklace. Unfortunetly, it’s actually not warm enough to have ones feet this exposed. I froze once I left work!

I think this outfit is really fun, enough though it’s really grey!

Dinner with the Cripple

Today was a much better day, health wise, from yesterday. I guess each day has been better then the last. Mostly because it is one day closer to this being all over. My stomach still has its moments but other then that, today was pretty optimistic.

I could tell that Chad was starting to have the effects of Cabin Fever so I dragged him out of the house so we could go out for dinner to Earls, which is just up the street from our apartment. While it is burdensome for him to move around with his crutches, I figured going out for dinner would be an easy way to get home out of the house to people watch, with out a lot of effort. Worked like a charm!

I wore my Beck band t-shirt today. If you know me, you know that I love Beck more then anything. He is my hero! My t-shirt, unfortunately, is too short for my body, so I had to layer it with a longer white t-shirt.

I love wearing my teal Kersh boyfriend sweater as a pop of colour everything I wear a monotone outfit.

Navy Mavi denim leggings and flats rounded out my bottom half.

I decided to add a cute bow in my hair, silver bracelets, and my studded purse for our date out. It turned my rather casual outfit into something a little more funky for evening!
