Vintage For Reals

When my Mom was cleaning out my brothers closet she came upon this old sweater. This sweater just happens to by my Uncles sweater from 1975. Yes, thats right, he wore it when he was 8 years old.

Mom had put it in a pile waiting to go to Good Will. I, however, had other plans for it.

No one believed me that it would fit, but I knew it would.

I wore it to dinner tonight and got so many compliments on it. I love this sweater!

I paired my Vintage look with a long white T, AE Jeans, brown leather belt from Italy and my brown boots. Blue, Orange, Brown. It all works together so perfectly.

Thank God for Vintage Finds!

Forest Greens

I gotta do something about this cold weather. I need to invest in some very furry, fuzzy, warm pieces or I might just waste away and freeze.

My sickness was affecting my normal body temperature today and I was freezing cold. Wearing my Italian Poncho was definitely in order. I styled it differently today so that Chad couldn’t accuse me of looking like a giant garbage bag. I’ve seen Alicia do this when styling things for work, so I tried it out. A simple thin gold belt and it added some definition to my waist but still allowed the poncho to fall as it is suppose to. I think it looks quite nice belted, and I will probably always wear it like this now! I love the cowl neck and the way it drapes.

A white long sleeve top worked perfectly under the poncho.

Navy Mavi Denim Leggings and Brown Boots worked perfectly with the ensemble, and a pair of Antique Brass earrings that were gifted to me added that little bit of bling.

This was the perfect comfy yet stylish outfit to be sick in! Haha!

Wood Central

I just realized that the colours in this picture are all very similar. Didn’t realized I dressed to match my floors and cabinets!

I’ve been freezing my butt off at work so I’ve been trying to wear things that cover as much skin as possible. Only problem is these Denim Leggings are made of paper and let all your body heat out. Bastards!

This outfit is very similar to one I wore last week. Same basic scenario, just a different top.

Today I wore my brown Kersh pull over  for its fuzzy and warming effects. I decided to protect my neck with not one, but two scarves. I got the idea to twist them together to make a doubled, layered look. I think it looks pretty cool. Mavi Denim Leggings down below, with my brown, wood matching boots.

Kind of a simple look mixed up with different textures and patterns!

The Browns and the Blues

Another week, another Monday. All these weeks are blending together it seems. Work is getting insane. Blogging is getting behind. There are so many little projects going on that I am starting to loose my mind. Thinking about it all is worse then actually doing it all.

The weather is starting to change and things are starting to get COLD. Scarves are probably going to be a must this week.

This knit top I bought in Italy in one of the little markets. It came with a rather cheaply made matching scarf. Cheaply made in that it was a strip of the same fabric with some hand cut fringe at the end. CHEAP! Ha. I traded that scarf in for one my Mom bought me in Alaska. Brown and Blue always look so good together.

I carried the colours down and wore my Navy Denim Leggings and brown faux leather boots.

I love the way the colours play with each other. Different shades of Blue and Brown all living together harmoniously!

I Don’t Listen to Myself

What is my biggest pet peeve? Oh yea, wearing Black and Brown together. Humm…well, what I have done here? Oh yea, I’ve combined a lot of black and brown together.

I am throwing out that rule when it comes to leathers (or faux leathers which is the case for me).

I am obsessed with all of my leather pieces, so it made sense to me that no matter what the colour of the leather, I should probably just combined all of it. Yes, that does sound like a wonderful plan, doesn’t it?

It’s ok, remmeber what I said to myself when I got back from Italy? Have fun with fashion, just don’t worry about it.

So, today’s outfit consists of the black cowl neck top I got in Italy, paired with my navy Denim Leggings, very alla Italy. I just had to wear my black faux leather jacket on top. I then really felt like matching my purse to my boots, so I went for the brown leather boots from Target and brown leather fringe purse from Miele Bianco @ Plum.

I know its a bit weird and out there and only kind of makes sense, but I kind of love it.

All the rules are out the window for this outfit!

Bringing It Back Again

Holy Moly, I put some effort into things today!

It’s a bit of a throw back to an outfit I’ve done before, based around the same blouse. I love it, but like I said before, it only looks good with a sweater over top. Damn poofy sleeves!

This time around I paired it with my long grey Boyfriend Cardigan and a maroon snake skin belt from Value Village.

Royal Denim Leggings act as the pop of colour in this outfit and the brown boot make a nice contrast.

My hair was all down and wavy for most of the day, but of course, working late and stressing out meant I had to put it up in a bun. Ended up looking cute enough to photograph!

My new favourite wire cuff is from Plum as well.

One more day left in this crazy work week!

Beginning, Middle, End

I don’t like days that start off good, but end badly. I especially don’t like days, when half way through, you discover a cold sore forming on the side and tip of your nose. Really, really, Mr. Cold Sore, you had to come and jump around on my face now? I feel like poop :(

I also don’t like days when I come home and find the Husband in bed sick.

10 more days until my Birthday trip to Seattle. Will everyone heal in time!?

I was excited to wear my new printed burn-out top from Oxmo today. It was too cold to wear it with out this little cropped sweater from Off the Wall, so you can’t see the fun sleeves it has. I also wore my navy Serena Denim Leggings.

Silver charms and hooped earings worked well with this outfit. Sometimes I just like to wear a lot of simple silver jewelery.

The weather is still pretty crappy so I had to wear boots, which is very un Spring like. Thankfully they saved my feet from lots of puddles. Maybe this bad weather is getting everyone sick!?

Oh What a Day, What a Day

Well, Chad hurt his ankle last night. He fell down the stairs while carrying chairs. Not a good thing. I will most likely have to take him to the hospital tonight to get it checked out by a doctor, probably get an x-ray or two. Should be interesting.

I’ve spent the majority of the day working away and checking in with him periodically. It looks like my workload is going to double if this ankle of his is broken or something.

The sun was out shining today, but it still felt like it was going to snow. The mountains are freshly covered and they look beautiful!

I wore my new Dex leopard printed top today, layered with a tank top of course. I topped it off with my boyfriend sweater, buttoned at the top.

Navy Denim Leggings, Brown Boots, and Chains.

Now I get to go home and worry about the husband!

A Meeting of the Managers

Today was a very long and tiresome day. All the stress that had been brought on this week, was in preparation for today. While we in the design department don’t work one on one with the managers of our stores, twice a year (Spring and Fall) we organize part of their meeting where we show them the latest trends and newest merchandise. We also get to sit in on any guest speakers and promotional talks, which are always fun. The organization of everything tends to be a little last minute each year, which makes the 3 of us who work the meeting uber stressed.

This year we did a little something different and actually modeled outfits instead of just putting them together and hanging them on a rack. Yours truly was one of the models!

It is customary at each Managers Meeting that each member of the design department wears something new from the Spring collection. This usually consists of a brand new outfit which we each have to buy on our own, if we don’t already have something we can wear. This year because I was modeling a bunch of outfits, wearing the latest trends wasn’t the end of the world, so I just through on a couple of spring pieces.

The outfit is kind of a repeat of what I wore on Saturday.

I wore my white a-line, v-neck t-shirt, with my grey suit jacket. I stole Claudia’s scarf because I loved the colour of it, and it went much better with my outfit then the scarf I had on. I then wore my yoga jeans and brown boots. Simple, but effective. Everything, execpt for the boots, can be purchased at Plum.

P.S. I love popping the collar of my suit jackets!

Basement Wonders

Dinner at the In-Laws again this weekend. A mini reunion with some friends of theirs. I had never met them before, but Chad and his sister grew up with them. Great people and great conversation. There was so much laughing going on and it was just fun to hang out with them! I hope we get to do it again in the future.

It was even nice enough out today that we actually sat on the patio and had drinks and appys. It is a wonderful feeling when you can do that in March!

I wore my Mavi Serena Denim Leggings again, but styled them differently. I layered a couple Kersh A-Line Tank Tops from last year. I love the colour of the blue one!

I threw on top my grey Tobias Suit Jacket and a sliver chain, to keep the outfit stylish but simple.

My brown boots made for the perfect contrast.

The perfect outfit for meeting new people while transitioning into Spring.

I love cropped Suit Jackets!
