Woops!

So, guess who took the white t-shirts from Forever 21 and put them in the dryer shrinking them 3″ length wise!? I DID!!!

Ugh. Danielle. When will you learn!?

The whole point of buying these t-shirts was because they were long and other t-shirts are too short on me. Giant fail. I’m so annoyed with myself that I am going back to Forever 21 tomorrow night and buying them again; along with any other delightfully fun pieces I see! I really need to find a place that sells better long white t-shirts.

I wore the v-neck t-shirt today, dispite its lack of length, under my stripped blanket sweater from Press. Love this sweater.

I paired it with my Navy denim leggings, Chads brown belt, and my brown boots. Love this combination, as you know.

I also wore my seagull necklace from Urban Outfitters.

Alicia styled my hair for the pictures because she didn’t like how it kept parting.

The boss even compliment how ‘amazing’ I looked today! It’s always nice to get a compliment from her!

Colour Confusion

This outfit makes me think of Spring time. I think this is the first year I have ever been EXCITED for Spring! Crazy but true! Normally I’m such a Winter girl, but this year, I’m ready for Spring to come my way.

This great t-shirt I bought at Plum is from a line called Scrapbook that we bought in LA. It’s got this neat over sized fit to it, which you of course can’t see because I am wearing a sweater, but it’s really fun and drappy. I bought it in a light green colour, which in reality doesn’t go great with my skin tone, so I wore a colour blue scarf draped around my neck to break up the colour. Due to the drape of the t-shirt, it comes up really high in some spots so I always wear a white cami underneath it.

I threw on my grey Kersh Boyfriend Cardigan just to keep me warm yesterday. The rain clouds rolled in and it was a bit nipply in the office.

I love pairing this top with my navy Denim Leggings and brown boot. I found out yesterday that Chad actually loves these boots and likes when I wear them with my Denim Leggings. Who would have thought!? How many times have I worn this combination and not even heard a peep out of him? That boy.

Wearing Blue When I Should Be Wearing Red

What a crazy day for Canada in the Olympics today! I was so worried about the hockey game that I couldn’t watch it and decided to go shopping instead. Finally checked out Forever 21. I know I live right across the street from it, but I’ve been to lazy to visit. I bought a couple things, of which I will post pictures later. While shopping, all the sales associates kept running up to each other updating everyone on the score of the game. I couldn’t even escape it while shopping!

I wore an extra long grey t-shirt today. Something I bought at the sample sale at Plum last year. I love extra long t-shirts! I layered it with my grey Ribbed Waist Kersh Cardigan. A little tone on tone grey. I planned to wear my big blue scarf, so I wanted to keep my top half pretty mellow.

I wore my yoga jeans with my brown boots for a change. I don’t often wear that combo because the yoga jeans are much thicker then the denim leggings.  Love wearing these boots with grey though.

To add a bit of pizazz I wore my Zebra studded earrings that I bought at Aldo. Super fun!

Ok, now back to all the Olympic watching!

Grey Lace

It was such a beautiful day outside today. The office got so warm that I didn’t even need a sweater. Who would have thought that was possible in the middle of February?

Alicia and I headed outside to take some pictures this afternoon. Our plan was to shoot some by this fire hydren down the block, but as we got there, this guy in coverals and grease came out at the same time. I think he was working on his car or something. Well, he saw the two of us and decided to call us over and whistle. We weren’t too impressed, and kind of freaked out, so we kept walking. Luckily we found this empty parking lot with an amazing wall to take photos in front of. Thankfully the guy didn’t follow us, but he was there waiting, this time with a buddy, while we walked back to the office. Creepy!

I wore one of our new Spring blouses today. This one is from a new company that we are buying from called Trinity. They make awesome blouses! I love the lace detail on the front and back of this one. The flutter sleeves are fun and feminine too.

I wore a white cami under it because I seem to be buying and wearing a lot of tops that need a bit more coverage and layering. When it gets hotter out I might try getting away with just wearing a black bra underneath, though I do like the layering affect of wearing the cami.

I paired this with my ever favorite, Navy Denim Leggings and my brown boots.

My necklace is a silver bird charm that I bought at Plum last Spring. I also stole the sunglasses from Alicia!

The Pirates Have Arrived

Holy Busy Batman. Today was a very hectic and stressful day, but the sun outside made the office warm and cheery, despite all the craziness that was going on. I got a lot of stuff done, but there is still so much to do that it is daunting!

Miss Marlee J came over tonight and chopped up my bangs all pretty. They look fabulous now, the best I’ve ever had. I will take some pictures tomorrow for you. Now the old part of my bangs just have to grow out and I will be all set. I love when my hair is beautiful!

I found this great over sized crew neck t-shirt during on of our sample sales last year. I’ve always loved it but have never really been able to wear it in a why that I’ve liked. It is really big and long and comes with a self belt, but no matter how I wear it, it just kind of looks goofy; especially with the cut off sleeves. Today I tried it out by wearing it with my Kersh Cocoon sweater tied with my favorite old belt of Chads. It turned out pretty cool and different then anything I usually wear, so I thought I would give it a chance. That’s what this whole project is about anyways right? Trying to things and taking chances with clothes.

I was going to wear my black tights with this outfit, but then I thought it would be too much contrast between the greys and the browns and the black, so I just went with my Navy Denim Leggings. I paired them with my brown boots because I love the combination with my belt. The brassy chain of my horned necklace goes well with the browns in the belt and boots, and was just fun to wear with the outfit.

There is just something about the t-shirt that reminds me of a pirate. Yesterday Hilter, today a Pirate. That’s how I roll.

Sunday, Super Bowl, Sunday

Well, our original plans for the day were cancelled, but I have to admit that staying home and watching it here with the boys while working away on the laptop is the best of both worlds! Chips, kegs, yelling fans, Twitter updates. I love it all!

Had to pop in and out this morning, which meant wearing PJs all day wasn’t an option. Plus I don’t know what the boys would think of me if I was parading around in pink PJs right now, hahah!

I had to carry over the new belt obsession considering it was less then 24 hours since discovering this brilliant idea. I ended up wearing the same jeans too, cause, why not.

On top I wore a neutral white t-shirt with a grey v-neck sweater, from Kersh of course. Kersh makes the most comfiest sweaters out there. You can tell I love them because almost every sweater I wear is from them.

My mom brought me back this great scarf from Alaska. It’s two toned blue, with a teal colour on one side and a blue on the other. It also doubles as a big pashmina which I love. The colour contrast nicely with the belt and also brings a pop to the outfit.

I wore my inspirational brown boots, since it was them that made me want this belt. Rich leather browns and deep blues are my favorite things right now!

Now, to see who will win this Super Bowl…

A Touch of the Wild

Today’s outfit is brought to you by a bunch of random pieces!

The blouse I bought from a sample sale at work. I don’t think we ever made it as it’s a bit wild and out there. It’s one of those blouses that you can only wear with a sweater, because the sleeves are just too puffy and bizarre. For some reason I seem to buy blouses that have tacky sleeves, and only look good with sweaters.

This blouse has a deep v neckline with a high collar, that is surrounded by tiny ruffles and lace. Kind of reminds me of a frilly lace cravat. Ruffle also help small chested people give the illusion that they aren’t so small chested.

There is a zipper closure on the side seam, which is a little odd for a blouse, but it doesn’t have any stretch or any buttons so its the only way to get it. The zipper actually makes wearing it a bit awkward. This blouse is actually too big for me, but when paired with a sweater and belt, you can’t really tell. Mental note for any tops that end up being too big on you.

This beautiful violet/blue sweater is from Plum, under one of our house labels called Tobias. It is a Holiday special that we did one year, and the colour is so rich and vibrant, it fits right up my ally. I usually wear it buttoned up in the front as a v-neck sweater, but today I decided to unbutton it and wear it as a cardigan. It contrasts beautifully against the sandy tones of the animal print belt and plays with the length of the blouse quite nicely.

The belt I also got at Plum. It’s been one of those things that I bought forever ago with the intention of wearing it but just never got around to it. I love the print though and the texture of it. I think its made of horse hair, or something similar.

I kept my bottoms simple, as usual. Black denim leggings and my brown boots to play off the animal print belt.

As for jewellery I kept is very simple, since the blouse takes us to much of my top, and chose to wear (fake) diamond studded earrings.

It is Grey Sweater Week.

I’ve just decided this right now. HA.

My outfit today is fairly simple in that it is three pieces, put together, with out a lot of fuss and embellishments. Sometimes the greatest outfits are those of simplicity. Simplicity because the pieces are so good on their own, that they don’t need anything added.

This great sweater is from Vera Moda. It has a pin tucked woven insert with 3 button detail which is quite flattering on the bust. The sleeve bell out at the bottom before being cinched in again at the cuff, and it has an adorable self belt around the waist that can be tied a number of ways. This is a classic ‘throw on piece’ when you need to look put together, but don’t have a lot of time. The details in the sweater are perfectly situated, that you don’t need to add anything else and can still look great. I love having this as part of my wardrobe.

I paired this with my navy blue denim leggings and my brown boots. I love how saturated both their colours are and how rich they come out in pictures. Saturated colours are my favorite, because of the deep intensity they represent. I am not a very pastel kind of girl, but you’ve probably already figured that out.

I am also really enjoying the combination between grey sweaters and these beautifully coloured boots.

With a sweater that has so much going on there isn’t much need for over powering accessories, so I went with a simple, delicate double strand heart necklace and some studded earrings. A feminine touch to a feminine outfit.

What grey sweater shall I wear tomorrow?

Vest In Time

It’ Saturday night, which means something  must be planned! Off to the birthday party of Chads good friend. Dinner at a Greek restaurant with family and friends, then to a pub to watch the last of the hockey game, and a quick jaunt down the pier in White Rock. It was lucky that I wore this outfit, and not the other one I was planning on, because my dear husband spilt his Red Wine glass which splashed all over me. Better a white t-shirt that can be replaced then a pretty dress that can not!

I didn’t want to over dress for the evening, but I did want to be fun. My simple white (hopefully not totally ruined) scoop neck t-shirt from Plum is layered under a navy and white stripped vest I bought ages ago at some random store. So random I can’t even remember the time or place in which I bought it. It’s just been floating around my wardrobe forever.

As I knew it was going to be somewhat chilly at the restaurant (before the Wine started flowing) I threw on a simple charcoal sweater over top, just to add some warmth, but not a lot of bulk.

Chains were my necklace of choice, purchased at Plum, to give the outfit a little bit of edge.

Jeans and Boots, jeans and boots. I know, I know, it feels like I wear this combination everyday. But, my dear friends, until the weather is more suitable for other footwear, it’s all you get. I feel a little guilty that the majority of my outfits are centred around jeans and boots, but it’s what I got right now, and at least I change up the styles! Today I wore the denim leggings in blue with my brown boots.

Now I have to talk to a man about some soap!

East Van Fans

Spent the evening out at my best friend Matt’s new apartment in East Van. Funny thing is I use to drive by the place once a week while it was under construction (which was a 3 year + process) and never knew it was the building Matt was waiting to move into. His new place made the perfect background for my little photo shoot.

I started off with an over sized dark grey Plum t-shirt and covered it up with a beautiful teal coloured Kersh Sweater. This one is not as long as my Boyfriend sweater and doesn’t have any pockets (which drives me crazy!).

I paired this off with my blue denim leggings and those great boots I found at Target for cheap. I love the colour contrast between the boots, jeans, t-shirt, & sweater.

To continue on the colour contrast bandwagon, I loosely wrapped a metallic gold belt around my waist, to play with the tones in the boots and directly contrast the teal and grey.

I then chose my peacock feathered necklace to pick up the colours in my sweater as well as contrast with everything else. I love how it just goes with everything and brings a certain pop to the outfit. It picks up on the colours, the metallic tones, and is the perfect length for this ensemble.

This outfit is all about colour contrast, not in a wild and wacky way, but rather in a way that all the pieces still go together!
