Friday at the White House

Perfect weather for me, is when I can wear Jeans & Flip Flops with a T-shirt and Cardi. Today, we were pretty much there.

I’m a pant girl. I like pants. I like jeans. I like not having to really show off my overly pale legs to the world. I mean, yea, hot summer days and pretty skirts are fun and all, but right now I am loving jeans.

I pulled this old Kersh long sleeve v-neck off the shelf in my closet, not realizing that it has a growing hole on the side of it. It’s ok, I call it ghetto chic. I also spent all day cutting fabrics which mean I had randomly coloured fibers all over me, so I looked super dirty by the time I got home. Not good!

The belt, which you can’t really see, is a cute little white and green striped cloth belt that I got once upon a time when I worked at Bootlegger. It also came with a cute little rose pin, made out of the same fabric. I think I left that back at the parentals.

Dish jeans, of course. I can’t figure out if I should take these bad boys, or my other ones to Italy. I’m kind of thinking the other one, because the amount of ‘stuff’ going on on these ones can be a bit much depending on what top you wear. I actually had to change 3 times because the original tops I had chose just didn’t got with all the paint splaters and markings on the jeans.

Green flip flops FTW. They are one of two pairs that are still alive and well. Everything else need major replacement!

I’m a Boat on the Ocean

MONDAY! WOOHOO! Haha NOT!

Today was totally one of these Mondays where I was really not looking forward to work. No real reason in particular, just the Monday blues I guess.

I actually squeezed myself into my Charcoal Denim Leggings today. I was very close to giving up on them because even though they are the same size as my other leggings they are WAY tighter and less stretchy. This screwed me over when I ordered them assuming they would fit the same way. Oh well. After putting them on the HOLD shelf for a while, I decided to try them out today. They don’t fit as tight as they use to some how, so I might just give them a second life!

I heart my Forever 21 sweater. Geez it feels like forever since I’ve been there. I should probably go check it out before Italy just in case they might have something I need.

A basic white V-Neck T and my nautial sweater made Monday feel better as the day went on. I really love this sweater, the only problem is, I don’t really know what to wear with it other then a basic T-shirt. I need to experiment more.

Also, as you can tell, I hate my bangs and plan on wearing them pin in some sort of fashion, every day now. At the same time, pictures of my old hair make me want bangs again. We shall see what happens in the Winter.

Oh Surrey

Surprise last minute dinner in the real ‘burbs tonight. I think the parentals of Mr. & Mrs. T are going to get a little annoyed that we keep getting invited over for din din and they still haven’t! Oh well.

I’m glad this week is over. There was a lot of stuff that had to get done, and did get done, but I still feel like there could have been more done. I’m just a nut case like that. I’m hoping to get rid of a huge pile of magazines I have accumulating on my floor at home. It’s been sitting there for WAY too long.

The weather was all whacked when I got up this morning so this outfit doesn’t make any sense.

Printed T from the Garage, I think I bought this when I was in grade 12 or something. I can’t really remember.
White Tank from Plum
Navy Mavi Denim Leggings
Charcoal Kersh Cocoon Sweater
Flip Flops

See, none of that makes any sense.

A Peacock in a Birdcage

Today turned out to be an interesting day, clothing wise.

I was clueless this morning and really did not want to think about putting an outfit together, so I just grabbed one of my favorite, simple dresses. Because of all the forest fires it’s been so hard to tell what the weather is actually going to be like, so I thought, in order to change up this dress from the last time I wore it, I would wear a tank top under it, so when it fell off the shoulder you could be able to see it, and I would wear a boyfriend cardi as well.

Well, this idea was good in theory, and looked really cute, but by mid day, with the humidity through the roof, I was melting. This normally cool dress was causing me to over heat all due to the fact that I was wearing a cotton tank top underneith it that was gross and sticking to my body. Le sigh. I also, clearly, had to give up the sweater.

I forced myself to stick with the tank top, because I just ‘had’ to make this dress look different, so I suffered through the day. I also chose not to wear a belt with it (as I normally do) and paired it with my Birdcage necklace and Birkenstocks. It all went together quite nicely, despite the heat!

I also love that the sweat from the day has added a nice glow to my face. Haha TMI!

ICK!

I totally dislike these pictures and this outfit. :(

I got to parade around all day in my PJs since we had no plans for this holiday Monday. I would have been better off taking a photo of that!

After dinner Chad and I decided to pop over to the movie theater to see Inception. The weather was kind of all over the place and I had no idea what to wear, so I thought this would be a good idea. Not so much.

The tank top I got back in the day when I worked at Bootlegger and I’ve been holding on to it ever since. Not really sure why since I never wear tank tops like this. I think its the colour that still gets me. It was at the height of my Army Colours obsession. I still love army colours, I just don’t wear them as often. Anyways, this tank top is definitely no longer my favorite.

Mavi Boyfriend Jeans, Plum Belt, and Kersh Sweater were thrown into the mix.

Perhaps I would feel differently about this outfit if my hair wasn’t a giant bush of grossness. It was all curly and cute today and clearly died right before these pictures were taken.

Today was not a day for great outfits.

Dinner for Four

Today we were suppose to leave for camping, but actually, I’m so glad we didn’t. Even though camping is looked at as a fun and relaxing time, the prep work usually gets me all worked up and a little stressed. I was glad I didn’t have to worry about it this week!

Instead of going camping, we headed over to Ryan and Elise’s for the first time for dinner. We had a great time, the meal was fantastic, and the company was even better. I love hanging out with those guys.

It was hot in the city today, so I opted for some shorts and a tank top. I carried over my obsession with tucking things in and chose to tuck in my plaid Mavi tank into a pair of Plum shorts. I belted it with a brown belt also from plum, and wore my wired heart necklace.

Now, technically, because grey is on the black side of things, I shouldn’t really be matching it with a brown belt, but every other belt I tried just didn’t look right. Plus I got a lot of compliments on this outfit, so I’m just going to assume it all worked well together. I love brown leather belts so much more then black leather belts. I need to buy more.

I also love this tucking in of tops!

A Little Bit of a Mess

Doesn’t it feel like I wear this outfit a lot? It does to me. It’s just such an easy thing to grab for on mornings when I can’t really think about anything but going back to bed.

Today was a bit of a cooler day, so surprisingly enough, denim leggings and a sweater had to be involved. I actually thought it was going to rain when I got up this morning.

Nothing really to say today. You’ve all seen this before.

Grey Plum A-Line T (I realized today that I keep calling my A-Line T-shirts, A-Symmetrical T-shirts which is the wrong terminology, and I’m totally embarrassed by it.)
Teal Kersh Sweater
Navy Mavi Denim Leggings
Green Flip Flops

This is an awkward angle for photos by the way.

The Godmother of Gold

At last, the skirts make an appearance! Thank God I finally hemmed these, can you imagine how much longer this one would be on me if I hadn’t!? Exactly. It still feels long, but it’s better then it was, so I will stop obsessing and just wear it. It also doesn’t sit right because I bought this during the time in my life when I thought I was bigger then I actually was, so it’s one size too big for me. Don’t ask, for the love of God, don’t ask. I’m not  very smart when it comes to fashion!

None the less, I paired this Plum skirt with a Pink tank from American Apparel and wrapped a funky leather and gold belt I got from Value Village years ago. The belt adds a cool touch to the out fit. I matched some simple gold jewellery to it all.

I know I should probably wear heels with all these cute Summer outfits, but heels and me at work just don’t jive. So, it’s sandals all around!

Simple and fun, you know how I roll!

Day 190

Hanging Out In The Back Alley

This is the first Friday night of the Summer where we’ve actually made plans to go hang out on a Patio for the evening. I know, it seems a little late, but you know who to blame for that.

We met our friends at their new False Creek apartment and headed down to the water for drinks and appies.

I purposely wore an outfit today that would easily transition from day to night.

This is one of my favorite summer outfits and I’ve been waiting for the day where I could finally wear it out.

The skirt is from Kensie and has a great elastic waistband and back exposed zipper. The only problem with this skirt is the longer you wear it the easier the zipper unzips itself with out you even having to touch it. The elastic is meant to be so tight around your waist that it pulls the zipper open all on it’s own. It’s really annoying actually. Next time I will have to safety pin it.

The easiest thing to do with this skirt is to tuck a simple tank top or t-shirt in. I chose this purple tank top from Plum.

I also wore my multi strand chain necklace, and forgot to change into my evening shoes. Oh well, flip flops it is!

This is such a fun and flirty look!

The Only One at Work

That’s right, it’s just me and my computer today. But it’s OK, sometimes its nice when the office is quite and its just you and your music. I tend to get a lot done when that happens, and with the amount of work on my plate right now, I’m grateful for it.

I’m not really sure why my hair is so greasy in all these pictures. Probably cause it was in a messy bun for the majority of the day.

I love this outfit. So me.

Dish plaid tank top layered with a Plum ribbed tank top.
Dish Jeans & Flip Flops
Seagull Necklace

Simple but fun for a Friday left on my own!

PS. I’m officially half way through the year! YAY!
