Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn

I spent 75% of today in a car. I spent 75% of that time asleep. We stopped at the beach for lunch and you think I would have remembered to take a picture there…no. Instead you get me jumping on the bed at the Holiday Inn Cosenza. Oh the class…

Hello Rome!

I am probably way to white to be wearing this outfit in public. You should see the other photos, I’m actually a ghost. Also, no one in Italy wears shorts. Spot the tourist!

Keepin It Cool Style

Busy days keep coming and going. Spring 2011 is in full swing with new fabrics arriving in our warehouse daily. I feel the pressure to try and organize as much stuff as humanly possible before I leave fore Italy. Plus, it seems like the more I organize the easier the season goes for everybody, and since I love to organize it works out well.

Even though this outfit is very monotone in colour, I felt it was kind of cool. A half tucked in oversized T always gives off a bit of attitude.

I know it’s very simple, but I just kind of love it. The shades all kind of go together, and my teal belt matches the peacock feather.

Plus, I am somehow having an amazing hair day.

A Ride Around the Park

I spent the majority of this very hot Saturday working away in my moms basement, something I seem to being a lot of lately. Thankfully the basement is nice and cool so I didn’t melt too much.

Chad was having a boys night out, so since I was already at my parents house, I decided to join them on a bike ride around Stanley Park since it had been quite some time since I had been there. I got to use my Moms bike that she brought back from Italy in 1979 when she visited her family there after graduating high school. The bike folded up and fit in her suitcase, that’s how cool it is.

The Summer Look

I put this on this morning, arrived at work, and the sky became completely covered in clouds. I feared the worst. Luckily, we’ve been more then fortunate with the weather lately and the Sun burned everything off and it was the perfect day for a Summer outfit!

It feels like despite all these beautiful summer days, I really haven’t spent much time at all out doors. We’ve gone for the occasional walk and such, but it seems that everything is so busy that the majority of this summer is spent looking out a window. This needs to change!

Because I bought this scarf specifically to wear on the Amalfi Coast, I feel like I need to go to the beach each time I wear it. 2 more months and I will be on the Amalfi Coast!

Hanging Out at the Old House

Hello glorious Sunday! What a great day to be lazy and productive at the same time.

Chad and I spent the day at my parents house, watching the World Cup, washing cars, and hemming skirts. It was such a great day to get things done, and being at my parents house, with all their big windows, it almost felt like I was out side working.

This lazy Sundays involved a printed burn out T from Culture Plug that you can buy at Plum. We always get lots of great prints from them.
A white tank top, since burn outs are usually see through.
Heritage Denim Shorts and Birkenstocks.

Fun fun fun!

Also, now that all my skirts are hemmed and fixed I can finally start to wear them in this great weather we are having!

The Sun is Here, The Sun is Here!

That’s right folks, it was actually nice enough to have bare legs and arms at work today! This is a first in the year 2010!

I decided to go for something play full and fun today. I’m still to shy to REALLY show off my legs, so these knee length jean shorts worked perfectly. I’m sure they have a specific name but it has escaped me at the moment. The only down side to these shorts is that they randomly gave me a blood blister behind my knee. Very awkward.

This white double layered tank top I believe I got from Suzy Shier years ago. Two different layers of two different fabrics with two different cuts, attached at the shoulders to give you a build in layered look. It’s like they where thinking of me when they made it. I love the texture of the fabric.

I bundled up  my multi coloured handkerchief scarf to add a pop of colour, and to protect me from the harsh winds of the air conditioning ;)

Birkenstocks were an easy, comfortable choice, considering I spent most of my day working out in the warehouse today.

Day one of Summer was a success!

Beachy Keen

Well, it’s not as sunny as expected, but it’s still a beach in Malibu which is pretty damn awesome.

I finally got to put on some beachy wear and run around with my feet in the sea.

The Birdcage

Well, Shazzi made some necklaces and when I saw them I just had to have one. This one was specially made for me with peacock coloured beads and a little sliver feather inside the cage. Call me in LOVE.

You know my obsession with long chains and large charms, well this one has definitely moved up to top spot!

I wanted this necklace to be the focal point so I built my outfit around it.

I know, I know, I wore this sweater on Wednesday, but it just went, so I had to!

I even wore a little turquoise flower pin in my hair to match the colours in the beads.

Definitely fun for a Friday!

In the Flowers

I made a mess of the deck today. It was a mess, then I made more of a mess, and then everything was converted in dirt. Luckily I did this, and cleaned it up, all before the rain rolled in.

I just hope my newly planted flowers don’t drown away.

I’m pretty sure I’ve done a variation of this outfit before. It’s so fun, I can’t help but re-due it again and again.

Chad asked me if I was 15 years old when I showed him what I was wearing. I think he’s just jealous!

Leggings from Target paired with Denim Shorts from Heritage 1981.

Red Hot Chili Pepper Band T-shirt and Target sandals.

Lucky I got the shorts in before the storms hit!
