Dress Weather

I love this dress, but I definitely need to shorten it a tad.

It was great to finally get to wear some of my summer dresses. This one is from Plum and I bought it a few Summers ago I think. The bust area doesn’t fit me great, but it is easy to layer it with a tank top and it looks great!

I wore my sandals all day, but they were killing my feet with all the walking we were doing, so I had to switch to the flip flops.

There’s a lot of print going on, so I just wore my long wire heart chain necklace.

I think dinner deserves an outfit change.

Light Doesn’t Matter

It was a lot brighter in person, I swear,

A good first day in LA. Our appointments went well and the shopping was good. Now we get to look forward to some yummy dinner!

If you could actually see my outfit you would know that it consists of…

Grey Tank and Black Ruffle Dress from Target
Magenta Retro Sweater from Kersh
Black Cropped Leggings from Target
Black Sandals from Target
Teal Beaded Necklace from Anthro

Baa, I really wish these pictures weren’t so dark.

It Showered for the Bride

Tonight was my cousins Bridal Shower. I hosted it at my Moms since shes got all the room. We decorated everything in her bridal colours – Purple and Silver – two of my favorite colours for the season. There was way too much food as usual and lots of very pretty gifts.

I had no idea what to wear today. The weather is still so crappy but I really wanted to wear a dress. Only problem is all my dresses are either really fancy or really summery, none of which fit today’s occasion. Thankfully I managed to find this Old Navy dress in the back of my closet. I somehow always forget that I have it.

I always wear tights with it because I feel like my butt is going to be exposed at any given moment. I originally had full length nylons on, but I felt it looked too dressed up (because I am crazy) so I went for my cropped tights.

I wore a white cami underneath and decided to pop some colour into the outfit with my turquoise stone necklace and ring.

I had to stop by IGA on my way to my Moms, and even though I really wanted to wear sandals, I knew everyone in the store would look at my like I was nuts, so I wore giant boots that did not go with this outfit at all, but kept my feet warm and dry. I went barefoot once I got to my Moms though!

It’s time for barefoot weather.

On The Pier Again

Yet another lovely day in Seattle! We spent the majority of it hanging out downtown; the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and the Piers.

Though it was cold by the water, I did want to take in as much sun and Spring time as I could.

I wore my cute printed Plum dress with some cropped leggings I bought from Target for $5. I also got the sandals there for $12!

I stole a black belt that came with another Plum dress I bought and wore it with this one. I think it looks quite cute and adds some definition to my waist.

With the breezy sea weather, it was only natural that I  needed to bring a Kersh Ribbed Waist Cardigan with me and my linen scarf! I would have frozen with out them.

My chain and stud purse worked out perfectly because it limited the amount of stuff I could carry around with me all day.

Overall, it was a great little outfit to tour around the city in!

A Night Out

Given how long today’s trip was, we were quite exhausted once we got to the hotel. A hot tub, nap, and glass of wine was greatly needed. But, because of this, we weren’t ready to go to dinner until 9. This also posed a problem because we had no idea where to go. Oh yea, and I had a ‘really fancy’ outfit planned so the restaurant had to match my level of class. Oh Danielle, srsly now.

So, with options running out, we just headed to the hotel restaurant, which was basically empty, other then a family dressed in jeans, which made me feel totally out of place.

No one dresses up any more. It’s a very sad thing.

My Birthday Night outfit consisted of my Bandeau Dress from Plum, paired with a long flowy sweater and large orange beaded necklace. I realize that it was very ‘halloween’ of me, but I was just in love with the look too much to give it up.

Chad said the necklace reminded him of tomatoes. Our old Italian waitress really liked it. Probably because it reminded her of tomatoes too.

There should be more events in live where people need to dress up to this caliber.

Fancy restaurants should ban jeans. Just sayin’.

Birds of Paradise

I had dinner with Mr. Burwell tonight. Pasta and Wine for two with a little TV trash on the side. I asked him to take my photos but he didn’t like me using the flash and wanted to make them more artsy, hence the variety.

I would just like to point out that I was told it was suppose to be ‘clear’ today with no rain, hence the outfit chosen Well, I was totally lied to. Walking down the street to get dinner I FROZE. Even with my jacket on. Where have you gone, April?

Since this dress from Plum, is pretty much amazing, I know I will be wearing it a lot this Spring/Summer, so I need to think of new and creative ways of wearing it. Today, I decided to do a bit of mixing and matching.

The elastic in the middle of the dress is meant to sit at the natural waist, but I wore it higher at the empire waist.

I threw on a little fuchsia sweater from Kersh to pick up the bright colours in the dress.

The polka dot tights look really cute with this dress, the only problem is that the underside of the dress constantly got caught on the tights. I think it was partially because of static and partially because both fabrics were a little rough and kept catching. It was the most annoying thing ever. Every time I moved the dress was awkwardly stuck to me. Not fun!

I decided to wear my faux fryes, because I am on a faux frye kick and I kind of like the way the look with dresses. Different and unexpected.

I definitely love this look. I just wish my tights and dress would have cooperated!

Another Important Day

Way to look the same again!

It was another big Church day today, hence the dress. I know, I know, I’m actually in a dress!

Chad was baptised at mass tonight and I was his Godmother, so I had to look the part.

The dress I bought at Plum. It was a little long for me so I hemmed it before going out. I’ll do a little post on that too.

It is super cute with out tights but it was cold out so they were a must. They are so dark you can’t even tell what shoes I’m wearing. My Mom thought I was wearing really high boots. Ha, way to pay attention!

I also wore a little black cami underneath, since you know, we were going to Church and all. Didn’t want to be too ‘exposed’.

My hair is really long.
