Just a Giant Green Box

How can you have a normal conversation with someone when you are wearing a giant green poncho? It is very difficult, let me tell you, and I was the one wearing the poncho.

I’m not really sure if it is a poncho. It’s kind of attached under the arm, but only by a little bit. I dunno, I’m going to call it a poncho.

I saw this in Italy while shopping at OVS. It was my first Italian purchase. I know it kind of looks goofy, especially in the 2nd picture where I made it look like a giant green box, but I was really attracted to the colour and the coziness of it. I am preparing for snow fall.

I saw it, I thought about it for 20 minutes, and I went back and bought it. It only really took up 1/4 of the suitcase, but it’s worth it, right?

I chose to wear a black 3/4 sleeve knit top underneath so that I wouldn’t be totally naked, cold, and awkward. I then paired it with my Yoga jeans and Fryes. I think it kind of works, if I was planning to go hunting in the Summer and I wanted to blend into the trees.

Sometimes, you just have to have fashion adventures.

Back Into the Swing

It was my first day back at work today. It definitely felt weird being there. I wonder how long it will take me to finally feel like I remember how to do everything again. I actually allowed my brain to shut out work for the past month – very unlike me – so I seriously forgot a lot of things we were working on. But, it’s OK because it is allowed, according to me.

I am now into full on FALL mode.

An oldish 3/4 sleeve Brown Plum T that I found in my closet sounded like a good idea today. It worked out pretty well once I layered it with the ever so over worn White Tank from Plum. I swear, everything looks better with a white tank under it. At least that is what I keep saying to myself. I also wore my motorcycle jeans from Dish. I missed them in Italy. The scarf I made myself a couple years ago. It was pretty easy, and I should probably do it again considering how inexpensive it was. Note to self, make more scarves. I had to go with the Fryes today because I was wearing brown and because I love wearing them, in general.

I have to say, this outfit turned out better then I expected.

Faking It Like a Tuesday

Well, today definitely feels different compared to yesterday. All energy is officially gone. Today would be the day we should have spent in bed.

We had dinner at my Moms, but that was somewhat of a disaster. You probably should plan a family dinner 2 days after traveling Europe for a month when people are sick, cranky, and tired. Can we go now?

It was time to pull out the Ninja sweater so I could hide behind it when I wanted to secretly sleep and have no one notice. It’s weird how you can come back from vacation and just be sick of clothes. I guess while I was there I was sick of not having what I needed, mainly sweat pants and a hoodie so I could just be a hobo every day, and now I am just sick of it all. I don’t think this is suppose to happen to someone who works in the Fashion Industry. Humm.

I opted for my indigo denim leggings today, so that I wouldn’t seem so dark and dreary. I also had to wear my faux fryes because I have missed them too much.

My ‘Italian Leather Jacket’ also made an appearance because I am obsessed with it.

One Last Try

“Hurry up, we need to start pack”. “Hold ON! Just take a picture and then we can go!”. “There, a picture”. “CHAD!”.

Chad was ‘slightly’ in a panic to get moving the minute I got home tonight. Partially because I decided to work late, which meant I got home late, which meant we started late. He was overly anxious that it was going to take us forever to get all our stuff together and organized, and I kind of knew it would, but I was in no rush to go anywhere.

It was actually sunny this afternoon, but do to time constraints, I only got to have pictures taken in the big chair.

Teal coloured Tank Top from Abercrombie & Fitch
Beige Sweater from Heritage 1981
Oatmeal Scarf from Plum
Long Charm Necklace from Plum
Mavi Serena Denim Leggings in Royal
Chad’s Leather Belt
Leather Boots from Target

It’s always interesting wearing brightly coloured tops with these leggings because they are so saturated and bright themselves. Sometimes it feels like I’m too colour blocked. A belt is basically a must, in order to break it up a bit.

So, as I mentioned, I will be heading out camping tomorrow. Expect some very ghetto outfit choices!

Into the Grey Wide Open

I was feeling pretty emo today. Maybe that’s why I’ve got no colour going on. I wasn’t feeling it at work, and I really just want to go back to bed. Then the boss came in, took one look at me and told me how much she loved my outfit…3 times. I didn’t even know what to say! I really did not think this outfit was anything out of the ordinary for me, and I really didn’t expect it to garner such a reaction. But I guess it’s days when you don’t think you look amazing that someone else does. I still don’t know what was so great about this look, but I loved the reaction I got! It was just what I needed.

Over Sized Sample Sale find (the boss originally bought it for herself, maybe that’s why she loved my outfit so much!)
A shaped Jacket from Kensie
Faux Fryes from Target
Necklace from Aldo

I really really love this over sized knit top though. There are so many different ways you can wear it and style it. I love the way it just hangs off my body and fun it is to wear.

I also love the combination of the two heather greys in my jacket and top.

Maybe that’s what the boss was talking about!?

Bead My Heart

Well, the storm fronts definitely came in last night. Time to restore back to an old favorite.

I have been dreaming of my grey v-neck pull over for a while now because I saw some one wear a v-neck pull over as a single layer, with out a cami or t-shirt underneath (which is the opposite way of how I wear them). I wanted to try it out, only to find that the v on my sweater is way too deep and a t-shirt is a must. Ok, slight fail. How did I not already know that!?

I stole Chads belt again and paired it with my Navy leggings. My heart melts inside whenever I do that. Especially when Frye boots join in on the mix.

For Christmas last year, Chads mom got me a Pandora Necklace and Bead. These beads are like little charms that you collect and add to the bracelet or necklace that you have. The beads are pricey but very beautiful. They are very much keep sakes. For my Birthday she took me out and got me too new beads, the one made out of Murano Glass and the one on top of that. I absolutely love them, and I can’t wait to collect more. The glass beads are by far my favorite and I plan to add more to my collection, hopefully doing a green and blue theme. The great thing about this necklace is you can tie it a bunch of different ways and change the look of it a lot, I just have to run through my little booklet and figure out how to do that.

I love my Pandora Beads!

My Head is Fuzzy

I put this on this morning and Chad laughed at my because he thought I would freeze my but off. “Shorts when its been raining none stop!? Have fun with that!” Oh, I did have fun, thank you!

I definitely felt like a cowgirl today. I love this outfit even if people don’t understand it! Ha, it’s not that hard to understand.

That’s my little herb garden in the corner. It has been suffocated with rain lately and I really hope it doesn’t die. I can’t wait for my big herb pot to be planted! It’s going to be one tasty Summer!

So, I’ve got my over sized Boyfriend shirt layered over a tank top (both purchased at Plum), tucked into my denim shorts (purchased at Heritage 1981), which are worn over my black spotted tights (purchased at Forever 21), tucked into my faux fryes. Did you catch all of that?

The belt is Chads of course, and the necklace he bought me while on a trip to Korea.

Tucking blouses into shorts. It’s genius I tell you.

Today’s pictures actually turned out well, and that makes me happy :)

This post is a good example of how my head is fuzzy.

Cold Sore Death Drama

I woke up this morning feeling like more poop then yesterday. This is why I have made all my pictures darker then normal, to hide how I really feel. Do you also love that I almost never smile and just glare at the camera? Or how about the fact that this bookshelf has become me new favorite background? Is it really my favorite, or am I just that lazy? I blame Chad not being able to take pictures of me from any other location other then the couch.

So yes, today I felt gross. My cold sore kept growing and outside a storm of hail and rain exploded everywhere. It was pretty neat.

When I feel like poo, the first thing I want to do is re-tell myself everything my Nonna has ever said about not catching a cold. This involves wearing layers, always having a sweater on hand, and above all, make sure your chest and neck are covered by a scarf. You know how those pesky colds attack you the minute you expose your neck to the elements! Therefore, today I wore layers, boots to keep my feet warm, a thick sweater and I had my neck and face wrapped in a scarf for most of the day. Very middle of December if you ask me.

This outfit is not very exciting, but I attribute it to saving me from any potential cold attack I may have recieved today.

The tip of my nose is very red, and my hair looks like a helmet.

A  good day indeed!

Patterns and Textures

I loved today’s outfit. It was kind of out there for me, mixing so much pattern and texture, but I just loved wearing it.

I’m so glad I bought these tights. They are lace tights (obviously) but they are footless, so you can wear them under a long top, or skirt, and easily pair them with flip flops or sandals, which I am excited to try out. I bought them from Plum, and they are from a line called T-Party. T-Party is a company from the States that we buy a lot of our printed Ts from. I think these tights were an awesome find. I am so obsessed with them!

The shirt dress is from Dish and it is so comfy and fun! I paired it with a faux leather wrap belt I bought while I was in Australia. I bought one in black and one in teal and I recently discovered them again. They add such great detail.

I know I said I don’t like mixing Black and Brown, but my one exception is Leather. I was originally going to wear a pair of black flats but my faux fryes were screaming at me to be worn. I thought they would add a bit of a funkier element to this outfit.

I’ve also got a small silver necklace one, but you can’t really tell.

I kind of want to wear this outfit everyday.

Birds of Paradise

I had dinner with Mr. Burwell tonight. Pasta and Wine for two with a little TV trash on the side. I asked him to take my photos but he didn’t like me using the flash and wanted to make them more artsy, hence the variety.

I would just like to point out that I was told it was suppose to be ‘clear’ today with no rain, hence the outfit chosen Well, I was totally lied to. Walking down the street to get dinner I FROZE. Even with my jacket on. Where have you gone, April?

Since this dress from Plum, is pretty much amazing, I know I will be wearing it a lot this Spring/Summer, so I need to think of new and creative ways of wearing it. Today, I decided to do a bit of mixing and matching.

The elastic in the middle of the dress is meant to sit at the natural waist, but I wore it higher at the empire waist.

I threw on a little fuchsia sweater from Kersh to pick up the bright colours in the dress.

The polka dot tights look really cute with this dress, the only problem is that the underside of the dress constantly got caught on the tights. I think it was partially because of static and partially because both fabrics were a little rough and kept catching. It was the most annoying thing ever. Every time I moved the dress was awkwardly stuck to me. Not fun!

I decided to wear my faux fryes, because I am on a faux frye kick and I kind of like the way the look with dresses. Different and unexpected.

I definitely love this look. I just wish my tights and dress would have cooperated!
