NYE BITCHES!

Well, my friends, it is time for 365 outfits a year to come to an end. Yes, that’s right, this year long project is officially over!

We put on our fancy pants tonight to not only celebrate my final day of outfit photos, but to also celebrate the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011!

A few of us gathered at Alicias to ring in the New Year, then Chad and I scooted over to our friends Nori and Jeremy’s for even more New Years fun.

Even though we didn’t go out anywhere ‘special’ I still wanted to make an party out of it. In seeing as how this is my last outfit photo of the year, I should go out with a bang, right?!

Black Plum T
Tweed Plum Skirt (Boxing Day Purchase!)
Forever 21 Heart Tights
Forever 21 Beaded & Chain Necklace
Aldo Shoes

The perfect ensemble for a double celebration!

Thank you, my loves, for reading my blog over the past year. It has meant a lot to me!

I know I have crazy ideas, but I’m glad I went though with this one.

It was definitely a fun year!

Vintage For Reals

When my Mom was cleaning out my brothers closet she came upon this old sweater. This sweater just happens to by my Uncles sweater from 1975. Yes, thats right, he wore it when he was 8 years old.

Mom had put it in a pile waiting to go to Good Will. I, however, had other plans for it.

No one believed me that it would fit, but I knew it would.

I wore it to dinner tonight and got so many compliments on it. I love this sweater!

I paired my Vintage look with a long white T, AE Jeans, brown leather belt from Italy and my brown boots. Blue, Orange, Brown. It all works together so perfectly.

Thank God for Vintage Finds!

Boxing Day!

Boxing Day can not go by with out my Mom and I hitting the shops to see what is on sale. We’ve started a tradition of going to Plum every boxing day to pick up a few things on sale. This year my Mom bought me a coat that I had been eyeing all season long for 70% off! Total score on that! I picked up a little skirt I had missed earlier in the season and a beaded necklace as well. We then braved the crowds at Metrotown but found nothing we liked.

Today’s outfit is brought to you by Christmas Gifts. Chads Mom bought me this ensemble. All from American Eagle I might add.

The grey sweater is the warmest thing ever, and so totally adorable. The skinny jeans fit like a glove, and I can finally replace some of my Mavi denim leggings. The white T and boots were not gifts, but they fit this outfit perfectly. I love everything!

Winter fashions at its finest!

Day 359-1

Merry Christmas!!!

Today was busy and filled with lots of family, food, and gifts!

We were up early so we could open each others gifts, and then head to Chads parents house for Christmas breakfast. This meant I only got 5 hours sleep, so I was a little lacking in energy today! Back home for an afternoon nap and then off to my parents for Christmas dinner.

Christmas for me, is about running around in comfort, I’ll let Christmas Eve be the time to dress up fancy!

White Plum T
Blue Plum Cardi
Black Mavi Denim Leggings

The scarf is a gift from my dearest friend Shazzi, whos Mom made it for me! Best gift ever! I wore it all day and was kept so warm and cozy. I LOVE IT!

Hope you guys all had awesome Christmas’!

Sunday Special

Today we took a trip to the wonderful city of Mission. Long story short, my Dad went to high school at Westminster Abby in Mission. He became friends with a couple of the monks there and so at Christmas we usually go and visit. I am obsessed with going if only for the amazing collection of 70s furniture and decor they have. It is like stepping back in time.

Their Mountain View room makes for awesome photoshoots.

I can’t tell if my Italian sweater clashes or matches the couch.  None the less, I love how bright the colour is.

Forest Greens

I gotta do something about this cold weather. I need to invest in some very furry, fuzzy, warm pieces or I might just waste away and freeze.

My sickness was affecting my normal body temperature today and I was freezing cold. Wearing my Italian Poncho was definitely in order. I styled it differently today so that Chad couldn’t accuse me of looking like a giant garbage bag. I’ve seen Alicia do this when styling things for work, so I tried it out. A simple thin gold belt and it added some definition to my waist but still allowed the poncho to fall as it is suppose to. I think it looks quite nice belted, and I will probably always wear it like this now! I love the cowl neck and the way it drapes.

A white long sleeve top worked perfectly under the poncho.

Navy Mavi Denim Leggings and Brown Boots worked perfectly with the ensemble, and a pair of Antique Brass earrings that were gifted to me added that little bit of bling.

This was the perfect comfy yet stylish outfit to be sick in! Haha!

Holiday Parties!

These pictures came out quite dark and I’m not really sure why. I was really excited about this outfit but these pictures suck. Sad Face :(

Two Christmas parties this evening. One with family and one with friends. Both turned out to be quite fun, which is always a bonus! Ha!

I am wearing a Black Lace Dress from Plum. We made this back in ’07 or ’08 for Holiday. I never bought it but when my Mom and I saw it on Boxing Day we decided to buy it and share it! I totally forgot about it until it was time to think about what to wear to this party. Mom suggested and it and I was so excited! I love this dresses. I don’t know what took me so long to wear it!

The dress is made of black lace and has cap sleeves. It is very simple and is basically a shift dress, with only small bust darts to give it shape. Since lace is see through, it came with a black slip to wear underneath. It is the simplest of designs but the lace is so beautiful, it just stands on its own.

I had to wear a sweater with it because I was feeling a little under the weather and I didn’t know how warm it would be at the parties. I chose a purple cropped sweater from Off the Wall.

A simple silver necklace with charms, black tights, and black boots completed the look. I usually go for heels, but this time I figured I would get out of ‘MY’ box and wear a pair of boots.

I love this dress and I can’t wait to wear it again!

Its Time For Christmas Balls!

Our annual Christmas Party is tonight. The house is fully decorated and everything is ready! I love having all the Christmas stuff out. The lights make everything look so much more cozy.

This outfit is kind of a repeat (ok it IS a repeat) but there is a legitamate reason for it, other then the fact that I  just wanted to wear it again. Since tonight is technically a night in, I wanted to FINALLY bust out a pair of knitted Dex leggings I bought at Christmas last year. They are so warm and cozy and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to wear them. Only problem is I don’t own many tops that cover my butt. Thankfully, The Garage makes extra long Ts and so this tank top worked perfectly. Topped off with my Dex Chanel inspired sweater and I had the perfect Holiday outfit!

Now, I clearly need to invest in more long tops, especially since I have more fun leggings waiting for me on my rack at work. Leggings are not PANTS, remember, so wearing a top that does not cover your front junk and your back junk is NOT allowed! Haha.

Thankfully, I am all covered tonight!

Christmas Party Time!

We had our work Christmas party this evening. What does this mean? It means that we get to hang out in the beautiful home of our bosses, while drinking wine and fancy drinks, and stuffing our faces with the most amazing food known to man. The food, oh the food. I can not express to you just how much I love the fooood.

The outfit I had planned today did not actually pan out. The little black dress and Boyfriend jacket made me look like a sack of clothing. Not good as I really had not planned any sort of back up!

Scrambling 20 minutes before I had to leave, left me with two outfits I had already worn before. So, I figured I would squish them together to make something, relatively new.

Considering I work for a clothing company, it only made sense that I wear something from said clothing company that reflected Fall 2010. Only problem, most of it was too casual to wear to a Holiday party. Another reason why I had to repeat.

So, here goes…

Press Ruffled Tank Top
Plum Leopard Print Cardigan
Mavi Denim Leggings
Spring Boots

A simple diamond necklace, and my hair slicked back, and I was ready to go!

A Table for Two

In sticking with the disaster theme, lets talk about how ghetto these photos are and how I look like I need help in both of them. Danielle you FAIL.

I had to plan an outfit that would work in two different establishments. 1) Fancy enough for dinner at the Pear Tree 2) Casual enough for Alicias Birthday Party at Academic. I think I succeeded.

Though you can’t really see, I wore two tank tops layered over each other, blousing one out, so I could have it partially tucked in as to make the belt visible. I then layered it with a Royal coloured Kersh Sweater I purchased from Plum many years ago. To  the restaurant I wore a simple black and white heart scarf to class up my neck area.

I wanted to stay away from skinny jeans and boots this time around, so I went for my Dish Wide Leg Jeans and some black heels (which you clearly can not see).

I think it all looked quite cute together, but you can’t tell because I am making a horrible face.

I love the contrast of the belt to the blue in the jeans and sweater. Favorite!

Next time, I promise to take better photos.
