NYE BITCHES!

Well, my friends, it is time for 365 outfits a year to come to an end. Yes, that’s right, this year long project is officially over!

We put on our fancy pants tonight to not only celebrate my final day of outfit photos, but to also celebrate the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011!

A few of us gathered at Alicias to ring in the New Year, then Chad and I scooted over to our friends Nori and Jeremy’s for even more New Years fun.

Even though we didn’t go out anywhere ‘special’ I still wanted to make an party out of it. In seeing as how this is my last outfit photo of the year, I should go out with a bang, right?!

Black Plum T
Tweed Plum Skirt (Boxing Day Purchase!)
Forever 21 Heart Tights
Forever 21 Beaded & Chain Necklace
Aldo Shoes

The perfect ensemble for a double celebration!

Thank you, my loves, for reading my blog over the past year. It has meant a lot to me!

I know I have crazy ideas, but I’m glad I went though with this one.

It was definitely a fun year!

Blogging at this particular site will cease, but regular blogging will take place at smellydanielly.com

This project has really inspired me to look at fashion differently, so I will be including fashion posts @ smellydanielly.com. If you want to keep following my journey, please change your links!

CHRISTMAS EVE!

Well, I’ve made it to Christmas Eve. That is always a good sign!

Chad and I did a bit of running around today and then headed off to Church for Midnight  Mass. No fancy dinner or parties tonight, just quite times.

Can you see all the presents packed up and ready to take to Chads parents house tomorrow morning? We are so prepared!

My outfit for this evening didn’t happen, so what you are looking at is outfit number 2. Remember when I talked about all my Plum skirts being too long, and I had to hem a bunch in the Summer? Well, I left the pencil skirts thinking they would be ok, but the truth is, they are not ok. I’m going to need to hem those too :S

So, my Christmas Eve outfit consist of a Purple Tank Top for Bootlegger, Leopard Sweater from Plum, Stripped Pencil Skirt from Plum, Leggings, and Black heels from Aldo.

The silver belt and small silver necklace are also Plum purchases.

I want to open presents now!

Ohhh La La Banquet Time

It’s that time of year again when our Italian organization holds it’s annual banquet.

Amazing food + crazy Italians + dancing & free wine = one hell of a night!

I didn’t buy a new outfit this year, but instead decided to recycle something I’ve worn before.

Black bandeau dress from Plum
Black wrap – Gifted
Silver & Blue multi strand beaded necklace from Plum
Tights from Forever 21
Heels from Aldo

I am the lady in black!

Happy Anniversary to Me! Ok and Chad!

Today Chad and I are celebrating our Second Wedding Anniversary. In the grand scheme of things we are still newlyweds or any sort of anniversary or special occasion is still pretty big. We enjoy spending time in the moment and doing something special for each other.

Today, however, was kind of random. It’s the Labour Day long weekend, and Chad is busy, consumed with wine making. I spent the day photographing said wine making and then cleaning the house from top to bottom. Not really an exciting, romantic, anniversary! However, this evening we did take some time out to go to a lovely dinner downtown, so I obviously can’t complain!

I was hoping for it to be dress weather today, but I wasn’t so lucky, so my rain outfit consisted of Mavi Denim Leggings in Navy, a sleeveless Black blouse that my Aunt gifted me, and this amazingly beautiful leopard print sweater from Plum. This is the first piece from Plums Fall collection that I’ve actually worn. I always buy it ahead of time and then save it until it actually FEELS like Fall. Today, definitely feels like Fall!

Heels and some silver jewels and I am ready for a romantic dinner with the husband!

A Night Out

Given how long today’s trip was, we were quite exhausted once we got to the hotel. A hot tub, nap, and glass of wine was greatly needed. But, because of this, we weren’t ready to go to dinner until 9. This also posed a problem because we had no idea where to go. Oh yea, and I had a ‘really fancy’ outfit planned so the restaurant had to match my level of class. Oh Danielle, srsly now.

So, with options running out, we just headed to the hotel restaurant, which was basically empty, other then a family dressed in jeans, which made me feel totally out of place.

No one dresses up any more. It’s a very sad thing.

My Birthday Night outfit consisted of my Bandeau Dress from Plum, paired with a long flowy sweater and large orange beaded necklace. I realize that it was very ‘halloween’ of me, but I was just in love with the look too much to give it up.

Chad said the necklace reminded him of tomatoes. Our old Italian waitress really liked it. Probably because it reminded her of tomatoes too.

There should be more events in live where people need to dress up to this caliber.

Fancy restaurants should ban jeans. Just sayin’.

You and Me and a Table for Two

It’s Dine Out Vancouver Date Night!

I love Dine Out Vancouver, and getting dressed up and eating fancy foods, but you already knew that. Tonight Chad and I went out to Quattro on 4th and enjoyed an amazing Italian meal. Words can’t even describe how good it was!

I centered my outfit around this great black and brown (OH NO!) printed top with a braided gold built in belt detail. When I first started working at Plum, Alicia found this top and insisted it would look amazing on me. Having no idea on how to wear it and at that point, not really knowing how to dress myself fashionably, I took her advise and made the purchase.

It’s loose fitting in the bust, so you have to wear a black cami underneath it, and for some reason, I always seem to wear it when its not warm out, so I pair it with a black sweater.

I wanted to go for skinny jeans and heels, so I opted for my Black Denim Leggings and Aldo Pumps. Fancy enough for dinner and super comfortable!

As far as accessories, I chose a simple Gold chain and a new chunky bracelet (which I have taken pictures of and will post soon).

I guess mixing Black and Brown is allowed under certain conditions!?

A Day at Work, a Date at Night

It’s a fancy Friday today because we are going out on a double date tonight with my cousins and I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of time in between to get ready and change looks. Plus, I kind of felt like being fancy anyways.

This outfit is basically a copy/variation of the one Claudia put together for our Managers Meeting. It’s such a cute and easy look that you can substitute any knit top and sweater and still look just as great.

I tucked a basic white scoop neck t-shirt into a cute little black tulip skirt and then wrapped a grey belt around it.

I layered this look with a beautiful violet blue sweater. The perfect length for pairing with a short skirt.

The tights I wore were fun, but a giant pain in the butt. They are ‘One Size Fits All’, but far from actually fitting me. They don’t have a lot of hold so even though I pulled them up high (which I do with every pair of tights I have and they always stay) these ones fell down horribly. Not only that but the knee stretched out right away. I was highly annoyed with them. If I was wearing them with boots they wouldn’t have been such a big deal because I would have tucked the excess into the boot, but with heels I had tuck all the excess length really awkwardly into my underwear, as it was the only way to make them stay. It was not a very comfortable day to say the least.

I paired this look with the same black pumps and necklace as I did for the meeting.

The T-Shirt and Tights are from Forever 21.
The shoes are from Aldo.
Everything else is from Plum.

Why, Hello There

Monday Monday, humid Monday. I can’t believe it was hotter here than in L.A. It was all clouds all day and didn’t even feel like a nice day. But the minute you stepped outside you were sweating buckets. Such strange weather patterns.

You all know my passion for over sized grey knit tops, so it was only right that I took this one off our Sample Rack when we were shipping everything for our sample sale. Hello giant grey shirt, I love you!

My boss bought it in London, intending it to be for herself, but after bringing it back here she felt that it didn’t fit her body right, so she gave it to the sample rack, in case we thought of using it one day. Well, it was never used and before being sent away, I reached out and adopted it.

My boss is bigger then me size wise, and she bought this top bigger then her normal size so that it would drape more. This means I’m actually wearing an XL top. Well, XL in London sizes. I thought it would be way too big on me, but after trying it on, I loved the way it draped. I love buying things too big and just letting them hang out.

I wore my Royal denim leggings and black heels to make for a very colour blocked outfit. I liked the way my black heels macthed the black exposed zipper on the back of the shirt.

I kept my jewelry simple and just wore some silver bracelets and my fabric studded earrings.

Next time I think I will try this top with big chunky jewels. Something that will make a statement!

Another Important Day

Way to look the same again!

It was another big Church day today, hence the dress. I know, I know, I’m actually in a dress!

Chad was baptised at mass tonight and I was his Godmother, so I had to look the part.

The dress I bought at Plum. It was a little long for me so I hemmed it before going out. I’ll do a little post on that too.

It is super cute with out tights but it was cold out so they were a must. They are so dark you can’t even tell what shoes I’m wearing. My Mom thought I was wearing really high boots. Ha, way to pay attention!

I also wore a little black cami underneath, since you know, we were going to Church and all. Didn’t want to be too ‘exposed’.

My hair is really long.
