It’s my Birfday! Yay!

That is right. Unlike yesterday, today I am 25! Woot Woot!

I always liked the number 25. Mostly because when I was a kid, 25 was for YTV (and still is for that matter) and YTV was my favorite channel/TV station.

I spent all day riding in a car and stopping every so often hopping out of it to do some shopping. All the stopping made the trip feel veeeery long!

For my Birthday outfit I chose my Charcoal denim leggings, a white cami layered with an A-line tank top from Kersh, and my new blue wooden bead necklace. It’s such a simple look but I am so in love with it!

I also wore my little Mavi cropped jacket because it did get a little chill in some place. My Mavi Cropped jacket is a Spring staple for me, so watch for it!

Basement Wonders

Dinner at the In-Laws again this weekend. A mini reunion with some friends of theirs. I had never met them before, but Chad and his sister grew up with them. Great people and great conversation. There was so much laughing going on and it was just fun to hang out with them! I hope we get to do it again in the future.

It was even nice enough out today that we actually sat on the patio and had drinks and appys. It is a wonderful feeling when you can do that in March!

I wore my Mavi Serena Denim Leggings again, but styled them differently. I layered a couple Kersh A-Line Tank Tops from last year. I love the colour of the blue one!

I threw on top my grey Tobias Suit Jacket and a sliver chain, to keep the outfit stylish but simple.

My brown boots made for the perfect contrast.

The perfect outfit for meeting new people while transitioning into Spring.

I love cropped Suit Jackets!

The Big Brown Sweater

One of the best parts of my job is when I get to participate in a buying appointment. However, the worst part is when these buying appointments are unplanned and I am not dressed for the occasion. Now, I obviously try and dress my best every day, but since I usually never meet with anyone, I don’t worry TOO much if I am having an off day or bad hair day. And obviously if I do have a planned meeting, I dress appropriately for it. I like to be prepared and well put together.

Yesterday I got called at the last minute to join my coworkers at an appointment with Dish Jeans, which just so happens to be located down the street from us. I was more then happy to obliged, I just felt so uncomfortable in my outfit because the Sales Reps always dress so cute and funky and here I was in a giant brown sweater. And we all know, when you don’t feel comfortable and confident, you don’t look comfortable and confident. I probably would have felt better if I was wearing heals.

I thought it would be fun to belt this big Kersh sweater, so I wore a white long sleeve shirt underneath, wrapped the sweater around it, and then belted it just under the bust line. It looked better in person; these pictures are kind of goofy.

I was feeling kind of lazy, so I wore my Mavi Jeans and brown flats, for a more casual look. I think had I paired this outfit with skinny jeans and boots it would have looked better. But then again, everything looks better with skinny jeans and boots and we can’t wear those everyday now can we.

I really need to learn to wear more heels.

Under the Olympic Weather

You must forgive my appearance in these pictures. It’s been a long day and I’m not feeling up to snuff. Just got home from watching the dress rehearsal for the Opening Ceremonies and I am cold, wet, and super tired, but the performance was amazing and I can’t wait for the world to see it Friday night!

The heat hasn’t been on all day, since no one has been home, and there is no point in turning it on since I’m going to bed in 5 minutes so I’m going to make this quick since it is freezing in here!!!

We were told as part of attending this event tonight we all had to wear white. I assumed they were going to use the audience as a backdrop for something, hence the white. Unfortunately for me, the only white I own is mainly summery and not at all weather appropriate for right now. This presented a challenge, a challenge I didn’t overly accept all that well.

Last Spring, Kersh made these great over sized, tent like tank tops that I adore, but they are so over sized (on me anyways) that you have to layer them with another tank top underneath. It looks pretty cool actually, even though you can’t tell from the pictures. Since all my white t-shirts are looking pretty ghetto these days, and desperately need replacement, I went for the two tank top look.

To have some sort of warmth I decided to wear this really cute 3/4 length sweater I got as a gift for Christmas one year, which I think its from Off the Wall. It is super cute and worked well with the ‘oversized’ tank tops. I know it’s not white, but come on people. I’m Italian, I own a lot of black.

To add a bit of pattern I wore my White and Black heart scarf. I felt that was appropriate considering it’s pretty white. Then to add a bit of shine I wore my favorite seagull necklace.

Navy denim leggings round out the bottom with my fun Black and White plaid boots.

Despite not being TOTALLY white, I think I did a good enough job!

The Green Belt

What a crazy day in the office. A mixture of lack of sleep, plus the stress of inventory, meant I was going loopy all day. However, dinner and drinks with the girls, plus a little shopping down town was the perfect fix for a less then perfect week.

I wanted to wear my yoga jeans, but I wasn’t really in the mood for boots, so I cuffed them up, slipped on a pair of checkered Vans, and whola! It brought me back a little bit to when I was in College, but I’ve always loved the look, so I figured I would just go with it.

I wore my white, cotton slub, v-neck, long sleeve shirt over a white tank top, tucked in right in the front so that my belt would show.

The belt Matt got me from Value Village. A pretty great find if you ask me! YSL at Value Village, who knew! I love the richness of the colour and the gold accents.

In loving the colour of this belt, I matched it to a multi strand teal beaded necklace I’ve had forever. Both pieces added a splash of colour to an otherwise monotone outfit. I seem to be drawn to monotone outfits!

To keep with the grey knits of the week, I wore a super cute little grey knit hat that I bought at Plum. I had always wanted one but had no idea how to wear it, or even if it looked good, but when we got them in at work, we all tried them on and fell in love. I love throwing it on with different outfits, because it can totally change the look. It is comfy and soft and perfect for Winter!

30 Minutes Late

I just could not get out of bed this morning which meant I was definitely late for work. This is not good when you are trying to pick out an outfit every morning that is somewhat new and different from the last. I really need to stop getting up at 8am!

In my rush this morning I grabbed my Yoga Jeans from Second in a rinse wash. They use to be my number one go to jean, but after a year of wear and tear the knees have stretched out and they aren’t what they once were. Thanks to the ‘yoga’ part of the jean, there is so much spandex in them that as time went on they just stretched out of shape. I use to be able to shrink them by using the dryer, but the last time I attempted it didn’t work so well. I think the time has come to replace them, though knowing me I will be way too lazy about it and way to cheap as I will probably spend all my money on buying new and exciting Denim Leggings as I now love them more.

Following the obsession of chunky knits I reached for my chunky chocolate Kershsweater that doesn’t have any sleeves. I always found it hard to wear big sweaters in the winter that just have a wrap feature or short sleeves, as this one dose, but pairing it with a simple long sleeve top is definitely the way to go. I chose a Kersh Cotton Slub long sleeve shirt which is thin enough to layer, but gives my arms enough coverage that they don’t freeze to death. Plus I absolutely love anything in a Cotton Slub and definitely want to add more to my wardrobe this season. I also just realized I should have taken a picture of the back of the sweater too since it’s pretty neat. Next time!

Now, with my personal hatred of mixing black and brown (except under very specific circumstances) I opped for the Faux Fryes and a wood and silver necklace that I purchased at Aldo a few years back. Some silver hoop earings as a matching accent and you’re done!

Now, tomorrow the alarm will be set for 7!
