Grey To Meet You

And so begins the week of weeks. Pat arrives tomorrow night and there will surely be adventures this week. Hopefully all will go as planned and we will all have a gay ol’time. It’s always fun when Pat is Back.

Though there is not much colour going on in todays outfit, I wanted to play on layers and prints. The detail and intricate crochet work on the scarf plays off of the small print on my Dish T. The greys are also not the same shade, so the scarf adds some dimension to it. I layered my Dish T with a white t-shirt just to break up all the darkness in my outfit.

The drapy-ness of my Plum sweater also plays off the drapy-ness of the scarf .

I then cuffed my yoga jeans and wore my new grey flats from Spring.

While everything is pretty monotone, I think all the different elements work together nicely!

The Day The Rain Stopped

If only for an afternoon!

We visited with friends this afternoon, which meant I actually had to get dressed and couldn’t just wonder around the house in sweat pants. Damn!

With all the darkness in the weather and now early nights (damn time change!) I felt like brightening life up a bit. I chose my 3/4 sleeve fuchsia Kersh sweater and based my outfit around it.

My White Tank + Grey Esprit T + Mavi Denim Legging + Black Boots + Multicoloured Scarf

A simple enough work, but enough layering and colours to make a dreary Sunday a little bit better!

Dark Nights, Late Nights

As every other fashion blogger has probably mentioned, this whole ‘it gets dark at 3:00′ business sucks. There is no time after work to take any sort of out door picture because it is pitch black! Not to mention my photographer is too busy working out at the gym these days to help me out!  Oh well, sames poses, same background and GO!

I took Matt out for dinner. Italian pizza felt like a good choice. I had to show him what he had been missing out for the past month.

Since Matt and I were going on a pseudo date, I figured I might as well dress the part…right!?

I debut my Boyfriend Jacket today. The last time I bought a jacket from Plum I had to go up a size and get a 4 all thanks to my wonderful shoulders. Actually, every time I’ve bought a jacket from Plum I’ve gone for a size 4. Anyways, with the boyfriend jacket beings so ‘manly’ I was totally lost in the size 4. It was just too big for me. I knew I wouldn’t wear it if it fit like that, so I squished my football shoulders into a size 2. You can’t REALLY tell that its too small for me and I only somewhat feel tight in it, but it is better then the alternative. Oh, and I was NOT about to alter the size 4 to fit me right either!

I paired my Boyfriend Jacket with a printed T from Plum, my Navy Denim Leggings, a multi coloured scarf and my new ankle boots that I bought in Italy from H & M.

Pretty classy for a Wednesday night!

Whoa Whoa Whoa

I was kind of under stress today. I had an appointment at the Cancer Clinic, just the usual check up sort of deal. Even though I knew everything was going to be fine (I go for so many blood tests that if something wasn’t fine, I would already have known) theres still that little thought in the back of my head, that something could possibly go wrong. Thankfully nothing did, and I don’t have to go back for another 9 months. Woot Woot!

I don’t think you ever get use to going to the Cancer Clinic.

Since I’ve been keeping it ‘cool and casual’ the last little while, I opted for a relaxed look today. My long white T from the Garage layered under a V neck pull over from American Eagle. I love the colour of this sweater! As the weather gets cooler each day, I find myself grabbing for scarves more often then not. It’s just such an easy way to keep warm and it added to every outfit. This black and white heart scarf I bought at Plum.

As for my lower half, I went with the every popular Dish Straight Leg Jeans and my Chuck Taylors. They hid behind my boots in the closet, so I often forget about them. This time, I remembered!

I’m glad everything worked out well today.

A Case of the Mondays

I’m not ready to get back into the swing of things. The weather really doesn’t inspire fashion at all, it just inspires the  need to stay warm and dry.

We have a bunch of left over cheese from our Italian Dinner so I’ve been picking away at it. I love having good cheese in the house!

Todays outfit is clearly uninspiring. I layered a grey t-shirt from Plum with a black long sleeve knit top from American Apparel. I then stuck on a pair of Yoga Jeans and my black boots, perfect for puddle jumping!

Time to nom nom nom the cheese some more.

Day THREE HUNDRED

You mean, I only have 65 more days to go!? Woot Woot!

In celebrating of my 300th day, I didn’t wear flat shoes to work. Hahaha! So lame, I know!

To be honest, I didn’t even realize today was day 300, but it is, so let us celebrate!

This whole outfit consists of old pieces, remixed to make something new, with a new pair of shoes.

The White tank top is from Plum, and acts as a great layering piece under my stripped shear Chocolate Plum T. One of my favorite knit tops I have from Plum. I love the texture in the fabric and the cut of the neckline. I paired this with my Navy Denim Leggings from Mavi, and then threw on a teal sweater from Kersh. The mixture of Teal & Chocolate always makes me happy!

A simple silver necklace kept my neckline open but eye catching.

As for my shoes, I got these babies on sale from Spring! I love the colour, I love that they are a wedge, and I love the little stud details.

Happy 300th Day of the Year!

I Will Blind You with Colour

Chad said I looked like a German Army Leaf. Yes, because that makes sense.

You can never tell in these pictures, but these cargos are more brown then grey, but they never come across as such. If they actually were the colour that they photograph as, I would be much happier. But non the less.

This very bright colour sweater was a gift from my Aunt who we stayed with in Italy. We went to this factory direct sweater place that had the most amazing classic sweaters of all time. Everything was super expensive, but so beautiful. She wanted to buy us something, but I couldn’t let her spend that kind of money, so I picked out something from the sale section. I’m really glad I did, because I really love this sweater. It is a crew neck, cable knit sweater in a bright red/orange. I don’t really own anything this bright and in your face, so it’s kind of a refreshing piece in my wardrobe.

I decided to get a little crazy and pair it with my Mavi cargo pants. I know it doesnt look crazy, but that’s because you can’t see the real colour of the pants. I kind of felt brave wearing them together.

I guess the reason I look like a German Army Leaf is because my sweater and pants are Fall colours and my boots are Army-esque?

I don’t know where the German comes into play.

Just a Giant Green Box

How can you have a normal conversation with someone when you are wearing a giant green poncho? It is very difficult, let me tell you, and I was the one wearing the poncho.

I’m not really sure if it is a poncho. It’s kind of attached under the arm, but only by a little bit. I dunno, I’m going to call it a poncho.

I saw this in Italy while shopping at OVS. It was my first Italian purchase. I know it kind of looks goofy, especially in the 2nd picture where I made it look like a giant green box, but I was really attracted to the colour and the coziness of it. I am preparing for snow fall.

I saw it, I thought about it for 20 minutes, and I went back and bought it. It only really took up 1/4 of the suitcase, but it’s worth it, right?

I chose to wear a black 3/4 sleeve knit top underneath so that I wouldn’t be totally naked, cold, and awkward. I then paired it with my Yoga jeans and Fryes. I think it kind of works, if I was planning to go hunting in the Summer and I wanted to blend into the trees.

Sometimes, you just have to have fashion adventures.

Plaid Monsters

Sometimes there is a reason why you put a certain outfit on, and other times you just blindly search your closet as you are already running late because you slept in and what you just happen to grab is what you are going to wear. My only real thought today was that it was raining like a mother and I didn’t want to get wet, so I wore these boots. They are my “protect your feet from water and gross things” boots. I basically treat these boots like rain boots, or work boots. They are water proof and never ruin.

Black and Buffalo Plaid was the theme of today. I think I need to start replacing some of my denim leggings, because I have just worn the hell out of most of them. My Navy ones which are my usual go to feel as though they are slowly dying, so I had to opt for my black ones today. It’s kind of sad that some clothes die so quickly. I don’t want to get rid of them and  have to spend the money to replace them, but they are dying, so what choice do I have?

Oh the hardships of fashion.

Accessory wise, today I wore some leather bracelets from Plum, my Mini Key necklace Matt made me, and a printed hair pin from Anthropologie.

Big Ditz in the City

I don’t even really know what happened today. I think I just spent it ordering trims. Clearly it was not eventful considering I can’t remember a damn thing.

Chad is working out again so I have no photographer. Thank God for Alicia, in more ways then one. I owe her for helping me out with photos so many times this year. Chad will probably say that I owe him too, but it was part of the contract he signed when he married me, to take photos of me all the time, and he is so demanding when it comes to where we take pictures and when, that really, he runs the show more then I do.

I enjoyed today’s outfit. I have a casual heart.

White Plum T + Sleeveless Black Knit Tunic + Grey Kersh Sweater + Navy Mavi Denim Leggings + Spring Plaid Boots + Multi coloured Beaded Necklace from Plum = Thursday in the Hood.

Monotone colours are fun when you wear a colourful piece of jewellery that really stands out. Plus the different layers all come together nicely just stand apart from each other.

Wearing shoes that feel like slippers is a genius idea. I finally understand the obsession with Uggs. Took me long enough!
