Hippie Alert

Yea, there is a hippie in the house. I didn’t end up having a shower until late last night, and in not wanting to blow dry my hair until mid night, but at the same time not wanting to go to bed with a giant head full of wet hair, I towel dried and but it in braids, something I haven’t done in years. Usually it comes out quite nice the next day, but today, it was quite the hippie mess.

I haven’t worn this shirt nearly as much as I should. I am promoting 70′s couches. If I actually had a couch like this, I would never give it up.

Now that I have T-Shirts that are long enough to poke out from under it, I like it a lot more. Breaks up all the colours a bit more. I also love this shirt paired with these pants. The Charcoal Mavi Denim Leggings are proving to be way more amazing then I thought they would be. Yea they are extra tight, but they look so awesome with everything I wear.

Today did end up being a total rain disaster, so my hair got weird and I got soaked 15 times. Dammit Vancouver…

Oh No You Didn’t

Today is a perfect example of those days where you looked good leaving the house, but don’t look so good coming home. Tip for anyone who ever decided to take on a project like this, take your photos in the morning right after you get ready and you will look your best! DO NOT wait until 6pm on a Friday and think you will look just as refreshed and glowing as you did in the morning.

Fridays have been a disaster at work the last little while. You would expect them to be relaxing, but no.

Also, my hair looks like a greasy rats nest in these photos. FAIL.

But anyways, lets talk about my outfit.

Boyfriend Blouse + Boyfriend Cardigan = New Favorite Layered Look. Chad actually thought I was wearing one of his shirts when I got dressed this morning. Priceless.

I layered this look with a long white T because that is my signature, and this outfit was looking a little too dark for my liking. Yoga Jeans and black boots covered my lower half, and a trinket filled necklace covered my neck scar. I was clearly a little too inspired by yesterdays jewellery selection and went over bored today. See, I am so all about less instead of more. I feel over done just because I wore a necklace with this outfit. Crazy, I know.

Prancing around in this was fun today.

Bring On the Warmth

Could I BE any more bundled up? Probably not.

I love this scarf that I bought from Plum early this year. It is so chunky and cozy, only problem is it sheds like a mother on my black Pea Coat. Now it kind of looks like Grover. It does get to be a bit much to wear all day because it is so thick and cumbersome, but it keeps me warm, so I guess that is the price I pay!

I wanted to go about my day all dressed in black with one pop of colour. As an Italian, I don’t think I wear enough black. It use to be my favorite colour when I was younger, not because I was Gothic, but because I was/am Italian.

I started off my black outfit with a stripped T-shirt from the Garage. The stripes give a bit of a visual interest. Next I grabbed my black Kersh Boyfriend Cardigan. My Dish Motorcycle jeans aren’t technically black, but they are dark, and I love their texture, so they get a pass. My plaid boots were a perfect choice considering my outfit was becoming more about texture and print then about being Black. Ha.

Tomorrow it is suppose to snow. Oh God, what am I going to wear!?

So Many Leaves

I think it is pretty clear that Fall is here. I’m a little behind on that realization because I wasn’t here for a month. After we took these pictures I collected leaves like I was 6 years old and wanted to do crafts. LOVE.

Outfit pictures are just so much better when you take them outdoors. I know this is true, and I wish I wasn’t so lazy about it and didn’t take them inside all the time, but the fact of the matter is, I am very lazy.

Also, could I possibly be wearing anything more monotone. You can barely tell that my scarf is partially green. Dark days are here again! Bright leaves and Gothic clothing. That’s one way of describing it.

My obsession with grey is clearly not dying down at all. Today I wore my oversized Charcoal T from Plum with my Charcoal denim leggings. Tonal grey always works. Keeping it dark, I went with my Black Boyfriend Cardigan from Kersh, and my Green and Black handkerchief scarf from Plum. Plaid boots add some feet interest, and orange leaves add a pop of colour. Ok, ok, I’m not actually wearing the leaves, but still.

Big Ditz in the City

I don’t even really know what happened today. I think I just spent it ordering trims. Clearly it was not eventful considering I can’t remember a damn thing.

Chad is working out again so I have no photographer. Thank God for Alicia, in more ways then one. I owe her for helping me out with photos so many times this year. Chad will probably say that I owe him too, but it was part of the contract he signed when he married me, to take photos of me all the time, and he is so demanding when it comes to where we take pictures and when, that really, he runs the show more then I do.

I enjoyed today’s outfit. I have a casual heart.

White Plum T + Sleeveless Black Knit Tunic + Grey Kersh Sweater + Navy Mavi Denim Leggings + Spring Plaid Boots + Multi coloured Beaded Necklace from Plum = Thursday in the Hood.

Monotone colours are fun when you wear a colourful piece of jewellery that really stands out. Plus the different layers all come together nicely just stand apart from each other.

Wearing shoes that feel like slippers is a genius idea. I finally understand the obsession with Uggs. Took me long enough!

The Old Man Comb Over

This is another one of those cases where my hair looked good when I left the house..I swear.

Today was an awesome day in the city of Vancouver. We spent the whole day at the PNE grounds spending the afternoon watching the horse races, and the evening watching the BC Lions Home Opener. Quite an exciting day for us.

For a Saturday casual going out, outfit, I chose to wear my favorite plaid shorts that I got from Le Chateau of all places, a few years back when they were on sale for cheap. Best thing I’ve ever bought from the Chateau.

I tucked in my A-symmetrical Plum T, and added my teal YSL belt. A simple strand of colourful beads, brown flip flops, and a cute straw fedora completed my look.

This was the perfect outfit to spend the day running around in.

Too bad I look like I have a comb over…

Still 24

It’s my last day as a 24 year old. Thankfully, I’m not scared about getting old. It works out well since I’m faced with getting older ever year ;)

It’s funny how things always seem rushed and stressed when you attempt to get a way for a few days. Maybe that’s just because I have to have everything perfect before I leave so that when I arrive home, everything continues to be perfect. I’m crazy like that.

Running around today in my Yoga Jeans and plaid “cow boy” shirt from Aritzia. I layered it with a long white t-shirt and decided to do something a little different and belt it. Had the white t-shirt been a little long, then I might not look like such an umpa lumpa in these photos! Ha. I’m so harsh on myself sometimes.

The belt is made out of snake skin and is a dark wine colour. It’s part of the “Matt purchased this for me from Value Village” collection.

As for shoes, I’ve got my Army & Navy sneaker special on. I’ve been wearing these too much!

And, even though it’s hard to tell, I’ve got my new wire cuff, cuffed around my wrist. I really love it because it’s so light but so fun.

Tomorrow, I’m a whole year older!

Shots in the Arm

Thankfully I am much better stomach wise today. These thyroid tests are definitely taking their toll on me this week. Ive had to miss a lot of work, so Ive been getting up early and trying to stay late every day, which just leaves me exhausted. It also doesn’t help that Chad is clearly crippled and cant help me out with anything. Halfway through, and this is definitely one of the hardest weeks in a long long time.

Today I wore my new Dish plaid tank top. Nice and flowy which will be perfect for hot summer days. I layered it with a white tank top (because I am obsessed with doing that) and wore a grey ribbed waist cardigan over top.

I felt like doing a lot of grey today, so I wore my grey denim leggings, to match my sweater, rolled up with my black sneakers.I thought it looked quite cute.

My hair was a big disaster today. I partially blame yesterdays bed ridden episode.

At least it was bright and sunny today :)

Like a Plaid Cow Girl

It’s a day of birthdays today. We have dinner at my Moms tonight for my Nonnos birthday. I can never remember how old he is. Somewhere in the 70s I’m sure. Then after dinner we are off to Surrey for the second of 3 nights out there this weekend. Our good friend Colin is turning 22, so we will join the festivities after dinner out in Surrey at Dublin’s Crossing.

Since we were going out to Surrey again, I felt like dressing City Approriate.

I call this top my Lesbian shirt. Chad says it reminds him of his old couch from the 80s. Now, I didn’t wear this top because Surrey is full of lesbians or 80s couches, but because I decided to dress it up, cowgirl style.

This plaid button up shirt is from Aritzia, TNA to be exact. They had many plaid shirts to choose from, but I was definitely drawn to the orange and blue plaid. The shirt is soft and flannel like. Its very cozy and while it’s some what hard to pull off, I love wearing it.

I decided to tuck it into my denim leggings, and it only felt right to wear Chads leather belt and my Fryes. The cow girl look wouldn’t have been complete with out them.

I totally feel like I should be riding a horse in this outfit!

No Hot Water. Ever.

I’m pretty sure we have the most schizophrenic water system ever. I couldn’t even get the water hot enough to wash dishes tonight. I let the tap run for 5 minutes on max heat and nothing but cold water came out. Thank you crappy apartment building! I’ve even started to time my showers so that I have one at the latest possible minute thinking that no one else is having showers/washing dishes/doing laundry at 10pm. Yea, that doesn’t work either. I go from scalding to cold to scalding to cold in a matter of 5 minutes with out ever touching the tap. I just don’t understand what’s going on!

Today was a pretty chilly day (hence why I wanted a hot shower) so I wanted to stay warm. I wore my over sized, dolman sleeved sweater I got at our Sample Sale over a basic white t-shirt. I layered it with my multi coloured handkerchief scarf to add a bit of pizazz.

Down below I wore my ‘ripped to shreads’ Mavi jeans, which I noticed today, are started in to shred right where my bum is. I guess I’m really going to be forced to retire those soon. Le sigh.

Hey look! It’s my grey checkered Vans! Been a while since we’ve seen those guys.

I’m usually not a dangle earring girl, I’m more about the studs. I always feel like dangle earrings are way to fancy, so unless it’s a special occasion I never wear them. For some reason I always feel awkward about it. Today, however, I decided to get over my dangle earring mental block and wore these cute spiral ones I bought at Plum.

The spirals are probably a symbol of how loopy and crazy I am becoming over this whole ‘no hot water’ thing! Ha!
