Do You Really Want to Skirt Me?

This skirt is kind of hard to pair with tops other then a basic coloured tank top. The skirt itself has so much going on with it, I’m kind of stumped with what to do.

Similarly to the last time I wore this, I chose a basic tank top, this time in white. In order to add a bit of drama to the outfit, I wore my necklace made of Lucite balls. They are always fun to throw onto an outfit. They go with everything because they are transparent and pick up the colours of what you are wearing.

It’s very cute and fun for Summer. I definitly felt fancy prancing around the offic today.

I love little outfits like this.

Parking Lot Party

First of all, I did not realize that the bra I was wearing made my boobs look that big. Kind of ridiculous!

Second of all, it is Friday. Thank you Friday.

I’ve basically spent all day in air conditioning, which is very good. My car is air conditioned less, but we went to a pub tonight for a friends birthday and we stayed cool all through the evening!

I bought this top last year at Plums famous Summer Side Walk Sale. For some reason it’s been hanging in my closet ever since. Not really sure why because it is the perfect top to wear on a hot summers day. It is so light and breathable it’s like heaven! Plus, the colour is just gorgeous.

I knew it was going to be a steamer today, so I paired it with grey shorts, and had a oatmeal coloured cardi on this morning, for the cooler morning air. It matched my outmeal coloured heart earrings. So cute!

A very simple two piece outfit, but hot days you don’t really want to wear much more!

Summer Plaid

I’ve been meaning to wear this dress sans leggings forevers, but it turns out today just wasn’t warm enough to do so. Plus, the dress is boarder line skimpy, so work probably isn’t the best place to test that out!

There is not much too this look. Dish Shirt Dress + Target Leggings + Elastic Belt = The Perfect Summer Plaid Look.

I love this simple black elastic belt. It is something everyone should have in their wardrobe. It’s so easy to add to any outfit and it just looks great.

I also wore my new ring that I bought at Plum. This ring was one of the pieces of jewellery that Claudia and I bought for the store in LA. This jewellery supplier was such an awesome find. I can’t wait until more of it comes in, because I am just going to buy it all!

Buffalo Plaid Love.

I Am Not Your Server

Everytime I were black pants and a white blouse Chad asks me if I can get him a glass of water and some hot wings. Thanks, but I don’t work at a restaurant dear! I guess restaurants have kind of ruined the white and black look for us, but styled the right way, I don’t think have to fall into that category!

You’ve seen this look before with boots in the winter, so for the summer version I paired it with some black and gold gladiator sandals and some gold accessories.

I did feel very professional wearing this ensemble, black pants will always do that to you!

Scarf Style

I know it doesn’t really make any sense to wear a scarf when it’s super hot outside, but I need something to add interest to this otherwise monotone outfit. Plus, I only wore this to work, which is air conditioned, so the heat wasn’t too much of an issue.

I love playing with the versatility of this skirt, and I decided to pair it with a loose fitting grey t-shirt. Nothing fancy, just very basic  and casual.

To add a couple points of visual interest I threw on my multi coloured handkerchief scarf, a silver belt, and red strapy sandals that Miss Alicia Quan gave me a few years ago.

I actually really love the way the scarf draped over the t-shirt and how it all looked like it was meant to be.

Just something very simple and fun!

In the Jungle

Even though I get compliments every time I wear this dress, I can’t help but feel like I mom in it. It might have something to do with the length, it might have something to do with the cut, I don’t really know what it is. I love it, but I always feel older then I am when I wear it. All very strange if you ask me.

This is one of Plums infamous Cross Over Dress with Tie. These things fly off the shelves. I have a soft spot for things that remind me of the Jungle and Safari, even though I’ve never been. This jungle print did me in.

Even though the base of this dress is outlined in Black and not Brown, I always feel like wearing brown wooden jewellery with it. I guess it’s the Jungle / Tree connection I make in my head. The earrings I’ve had for a while, so I’m not too sure where they are from. The bracelet is, of course, from Plum.

A cute look over all, I just feel like I’m 35 and need to take the kids to soccer practice.

Ha.

New Hair for a Zebra

The hair has been cut! It feels so much lighter and has so much more movement. Every time this happens to me, I always have a little bit of a panic attack because it feels like I have no hair left, but in reality it is SO much better! There is no fun in having a giant sack of hair on your head in the middle of Summer!

I spent the morning walking around the city, before and after my haircut. It was so nice to be in Coal Harbour, watching all the tourists, in the warm sun. I don’t often travel down there, but it is such a beautiful part of the city.

Tonight, we celebrate my Dads birthday with a Wine Tasting evening with Friends!

I got creative again. A turquoise tank tucked into a super cute Zebra skirt, both purchased at Plum. I brown belt would have looked great with this outfit, but I didn’t have one, so I opted to pick up the cream colour in the skirt. Gold and Cream Anchor necklace and Flower ring, both from Forever 21. Nude Sandals also worked out well with this outfit.

The close up photo of me looks way to dark and light all at the same time. Kind of awkward.

Cute outfit though! I want to wear it every day!

A little Blow, and a little Dry

Alicia and I were asked to be models tonight at Axis in Coal Harbour. The stylists were doing a class on Blow Outs so we were asked to be test subjects. Umm, who doesn’t want a free wash and amazing blow dry!? This is the best my hair has looked in a while. It’s so long and heavy, it feels like I’m wearing a sack of hair on my head. Thankfully, I am getting it cut this Saturday!

Since I knew I was going to have amazing hair this evening, I thought it might be a smart idea to have a cute outfit to go along with it. It’s amazing what a little pre planning will do for an outfit!

I layered two t’s, a white one, and grey/blue leopard print one. I tucked them into a black pleated Plum skirt. This skirt is amazing and so versatile, I should really wear it more often! I decided to go for a different pop of colour and opted for a fuchsia/red faux snake skin belt, with gold/sliver clasp, and wore a matching pinky ring to tie it all in. The love how unexpected it is, yet it still goes with the outfit.

I am totally obsessed with this look now. I’m definitly going to try it out with different T’s and belts!

2 Sleeps Away

It’s Wedding Rehearsal Night! It was funny to see how nervous Elise was at the Rehearsal. Reminded me of mine. NERVOUS WRECK!

Everything went smoothly, and we had a little party has Ryan’s house after which was nice. So much food, it was amazing.

I wore my Target Dress today. It really isn’t a dress, more like a tunic, cause it is way too short. I feel a bit sketchish because my leggings are some what see through, so even though I wear them to cover up my butt, if I bend over, they stretch and you see my undies. Not a good thing. But its adorable, and comfortable and I love it anyways.

I paired this basic dress with my blue wooden beaded statement necklace from Plum and a purple cropped sweater from Off the Wall. A mixture of fun, bold colours!

I know Alicia says you shouldn’t wear BLACK in the summer, but I got no choice with this dress!

I’d also like to say Thank God I bought these sandals from Target, they have become my Summer staple!

The Godmother of Gold

At last, the skirts make an appearance! Thank God I finally hemmed these, can you imagine how much longer this one would be on me if I hadn’t!? Exactly. It still feels long, but it’s better then it was, so I will stop obsessing and just wear it. It also doesn’t sit right because I bought this during the time in my life when I thought I was bigger then I actually was, so it’s one size too big for me. Don’t ask, for the love of God, don’t ask. I’m not  very smart when it comes to fashion!

None the less, I paired this Plum skirt with a Pink tank from American Apparel and wrapped a funky leather and gold belt I got from Value Village years ago. The belt adds a cool touch to the out fit. I matched some simple gold jewellery to it all.

I know I should probably wear heels with all these cute Summer outfits, but heels and me at work just don’t jive. So, it’s sandals all around!

Simple and fun, you know how I roll!
