Day 248-1

Disaster Zone!

There was so much last minute stuff going on today, I didn’t have a second to take a picture until 11pm at night! By that point I was minutes away from dieing of a massive headache, so clearly, I did not look my best!

Running around, shopping, dinner with family, drinks at the cousins. I don’t think we could have packed more into today if we tried.

I swear this outfit looked 100 times better earlier in the day.

I wore my basic white Plum T with my Dex Chanel inspired sweater (which I am currently so obsessed with that I will be bringing it to Italy!). I’m on the Yoga Jean band waggon currently. It’s a great change of pace from the denim leggings which strangle the life out of me most days.

It was a bit chilly out so I threw on the scarf my Mom got me from Alaska, though it looks like its strangling me in the picture.

Yea, today was kind of a disaster. I tend to have those kinds of moments when it’s time for my daily photo!

Day 246-1

Hangin Out at the Fair

My face is totally wonking in the picture. Not sure what the heck happened.

We went to the Fair at the PNE tonight. It was super busy but fun to hang around none the less. My favourite part is, as always, the Super Dogs and Farm!

Todays Day to Night outfit included a very fun, oversized tank top that I got from a sample sale. The picture doesn’t really do it justice. Its really neat how it hangs off the body. I layered it with a simple whit tank and then, due to the chili evening air, topped it over with a 3/4 length sleeved Boyfriend Cardi from Kersh.

I decided to wear my Second Yoga Jeans rolled up at the hem so they were kind of ‘cropped’. Birkenstocks matched the outfit so I had to go with them.

A pop of colour and fun with a floral statement necklace from Forever 21 made the outfit 10 times less boring. One last touch of Summer!

Cowgirl on the Beach

Matt and I went for dinner down in English Bay today. It was so nice out that after dinner we ate ice cream and just sat in the grass staring out at the ocean. It was so, so nice. I love English Bay. I need to go down there more often.

I don’t know what gave me the idea to dress like I was out of hicks ville today, but I just went with it.

This super cute lavender plaid blouse is from Esprit and I decided to tuck it into my yoga jeans, just in the front. I have this thing with only tucking in my shirts in the front, but not the back. It’s my way of getting length, but showing off my belt. I might look silly doing it, but in my head I think I’m cool.

I matched my brown belt from Plum with my brown flip flops from Payless. I am a flip flop whore and clearly try to wear them every day. They are just so easy, and I am all about easy. Yes I just said that.

I’m totally becoming more inpsired with brown leathers and I think that is something I’m going to buy a lot of this fall. The warehouse is already packed with some pretty cute pieces, I just need to make them mine!

Now, where did I leave my horse?

Late Night Kitchen Parties

Home late from dinner at the In-Laws. Pictures in the kitchen always work out when it’s late and I still have to take photos! You can’t be too picky when you have to do this every day. Sweet Jesus.

Today was very low key, other then dinner. We were both super tired, so nothing too exciting was in the plans.

I thought I would go with a simple, classic Danielle outfit to day, since the last time I went to the In-Laws, my outfit was a bit of a disaster, and even looking back on it now, I really don’t know what I was thinking. They must think I’m crazy!

White Plum Tank Top
Grey Esprit T-Shirt
Purple Kersh Ribbed Waist Cardigan
Second Yoga Jeans

Mixing bright blue jewellery with other bright colours is something I love to do, and this blue beaded necklace and purple sweater make a great combination!

It’s Friday. I Deserve Wine.

Hell yes I do! I also deserve a meal made by the Husband. Score one for me!

Well, I’m glad this week is over. I’m not as tired as I thought I would be. Good work ethic means a lot gets done in a crunch, and I’m proud to say a lot did get done.

This weekend is looking pretty good with a mixture of adventures and relaxation.

Tonight we are just going to Costco to pick up a few things and then we plan to pass out in front of the TV. I heart these kinds of Fridays.

I threw some colour into Friday with my multi coloured handkerchife scarf and blue Kersh cardigan.

A basic white T and Yoga Jeans, which I haven’t worn in forever, felt like the perfect Friday casual.

I went for flats instead of boots, even though it’s not super amazing outside. The boots need to be locked up until October. Srsly.

Heres hoping for some actual Summer weather this weekend!

Still 24

It’s my last day as a 24 year old. Thankfully, I’m not scared about getting old. It works out well since I’m faced with getting older ever year ;)

It’s funny how things always seem rushed and stressed when you attempt to get a way for a few days. Maybe that’s just because I have to have everything perfect before I leave so that when I arrive home, everything continues to be perfect. I’m crazy like that.

Running around today in my Yoga Jeans and plaid “cow boy” shirt from Aritzia. I layered it with a long white t-shirt and decided to do something a little different and belt it. Had the white t-shirt been a little long, then I might not look like such an umpa lumpa in these photos! Ha. I’m so harsh on myself sometimes.

The belt is made out of snake skin and is a dark wine colour. It’s part of the “Matt purchased this for me from Value Village” collection.

As for shoes, I’ve got my Army & Navy sneaker special on. I’ve been wearing these too much!

And, even though it’s hard to tell, I’ve got my new wire cuff, cuffed around my wrist. I really love it because it’s so light but so fun.

Tomorrow, I’m a whole year older!

Alpine in the Spring Time

Le sigh. The weather is still gross. The sun came out for a bit today, but then it went back to pouring rain. The only good part about it was that despite the rain, it was a little warmer out, so I didn’t actually need a jacket, with this sweater being so thick and cozy.

While this sweater does remind me of winter, the colours are bright and spring like, and with the weather these days, I might as well get some use out of it.

I wore a v-neck t-shirt under the sweater and a long antique brass chain necklace, with some charms at the end.

I opted for my Yoga Jeans, which have really stretched out now. I think it was also the boots I was wearing, which made them bunch up weird. It felt awkward to walk around in them, thought the pictures don’t look bad. I need to shrink them big time.

This outfit isn’t all that exciting, but it fit the day. Quite, simple, and cozy.

A Meeting of the Managers

Today was a very long and tiresome day. All the stress that had been brought on this week, was in preparation for today. While we in the design department don’t work one on one with the managers of our stores, twice a year (Spring and Fall) we organize part of their meeting where we show them the latest trends and newest merchandise. We also get to sit in on any guest speakers and promotional talks, which are always fun. The organization of everything tends to be a little last minute each year, which makes the 3 of us who work the meeting uber stressed.

This year we did a little something different and actually modeled outfits instead of just putting them together and hanging them on a rack. Yours truly was one of the models!

It is customary at each Managers Meeting that each member of the design department wears something new from the Spring collection. This usually consists of a brand new outfit which we each have to buy on our own, if we don’t already have something we can wear. This year because I was modeling a bunch of outfits, wearing the latest trends wasn’t the end of the world, so I just through on a couple of spring pieces.

The outfit is kind of a repeat of what I wore on Saturday.

I wore my white a-line, v-neck t-shirt, with my grey suit jacket. I stole Claudia’s scarf because I loved the colour of it, and it went much better with my outfit then the scarf I had on. I then wore my yoga jeans and brown boots. Simple, but effective. Everything, execpt for the boots, can be purchased at Plum.

P.S. I love popping the collar of my suit jackets!

The Police

The office is now half empty since our designer and buyer have gone off to LA for work. This allows Alicia and I to chit chat more! But we still get all our work done so it’s not like we really slack off or anything; every things just a little more relaxed. In a few months I get to accompany our designer, Claudia, on the next LA buying trip. This will be my second experience and we are both, really looking forward to it.

In other news…

I have this box in my closet where I keep all my old Band t-shirts. I went through this phase where I bought a shirt at every concert I ever went too. I guess tenchincally I still do that, I just haven’t been to a concert in a really long time. Anyways, I went to put something away in this box and found this t-shirt I bought at the Police concert I went to with a friend. I never wore because it was too big for me. Well, lucky for me over sized t-shirts are all the rage right now!

I wore my Police t-shirt with a white tank top underneath. I layered it with my grey sweater I bought at Plum.

Yoga jeans and Faux Fryes with a single strand of Pearls.

I wore my hair in a high bun like a Librarian. I have discovered this is my new favorite look.

My D&G glasses just to keep it classy.

I love random closet finds. Turns out this t-shirt isn’t all that big at all and will definitely become a part of my daily rotation!

Score!

It’s Not Summer Yet

Classic Danielle. I saw the sun shinning really bright and I thought it was Summer. Even though Sunday was cold and rainy, I thought the weather magically went back to the way it was on Saturday; warm, sunny, and bright. So I threw on my outfit, a pair of flats, a thin jacket and then out the door, only to realize it was 4 degrees outside. Crap. Guess who’s frozen! Not to mention the fact that it started to snow for 5 minutes! Seriously Danielle.

I wore my Buffalo Plaid blouse today. Such a great colour that made me feel very ‘summery’. This top always makes me laugh though, because it is such a ‘pregnancy’ top and if I stand a certain way it definitely looks like I’m trying to hide a baby bump!

I wore my Yoga Jeans cuffed at the bottom with my favorite black flats, which was not the smartest idea because my feet froze all day. I love keeping my Yoga Jeans long and cuffing them at the bottom. Cuffing jeans is coming back, I’m telling you!

The necklace I got from my Mom, who bought it thinking she would wear it and then decided that she didn’t like it. Not a problem, let me take that off your hands Mom!

Now, tomorrow I am going to listen to the weather report and dress appropriately!
