NYE BITCHES!

Well, my friends, it is time for 365 outfits a year to come to an end. Yes, that’s right, this year long project is officially over!

We put on our fancy pants tonight to not only celebrate my final day of outfit photos, but to also celebrate the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011!

A few of us gathered at Alicias to ring in the New Year, then Chad and I scooted over to our friends Nori and Jeremy’s for even more New Years fun.

Even though we didn’t go out anywhere ‘special’ I still wanted to make an party out of it. In seeing as how this is my last outfit photo of the year, I should go out with a bang, right?!

Black Plum T
Tweed Plum Skirt (Boxing Day Purchase!)
Forever 21 Heart Tights
Forever 21 Beaded & Chain Necklace
Aldo Shoes

The perfect ensemble for a double celebration!

Thank you, my loves, for reading my blog over the past year. It has meant a lot to me!

I know I have crazy ideas, but I’m glad I went though with this one.

It was definitely a fun year!

Blogging at this particular site will cease, but regular blogging will take place at smellydanielly.com

This project has really inspired me to look at fashion differently, so I will be including fashion posts @ smellydanielly.com. If you want to keep following my journey, please change your links!

CHRISTMAS EVE!

Well, I’ve made it to Christmas Eve. That is always a good sign!

Chad and I did a bit of running around today and then headed off to Church for Midnight  Mass. No fancy dinner or parties tonight, just quite times.

Can you see all the presents packed up and ready to take to Chads parents house tomorrow morning? We are so prepared!

My outfit for this evening didn’t happen, so what you are looking at is outfit number 2. Remember when I talked about all my Plum skirts being too long, and I had to hem a bunch in the Summer? Well, I left the pencil skirts thinking they would be ok, but the truth is, they are not ok. I’m going to need to hem those too :S

So, my Christmas Eve outfit consist of a Purple Tank Top for Bootlegger, Leopard Sweater from Plum, Stripped Pencil Skirt from Plum, Leggings, and Black heels from Aldo.

The silver belt and small silver necklace are also Plum purchases.

I want to open presents now!

Day 240-1

Party at the Heagles

Today was a busy, busy day!

Chad, his sister and I hosted a 60th birthday for his parents at his grandparents house today. Lots of work was put into this by everyone. Tons of food, wine, and good times.

I was able to sneak away for a quick photo in the hall. It’s somewhat embarrassing taking photos of your outfit in front of 40 family and friends!

Yes, today I repeated an outfit, but I love this one so I just had to do it again.

I changed it up this time around by wearing a cream cardi from Forever 21, a brown leather belt, smoke agoya shell necklace, and some flip flops. I totally felt like I was on vacation or going on a safari. I just LOVE this outfit!

I wish I had gotten a couple more shots, but oh well. Time to go hunting for some Lions!

Do You Really Want to Skirt Me?

This skirt is kind of hard to pair with tops other then a basic coloured tank top. The skirt itself has so much going on with it, I’m kind of stumped with what to do.

Similarly to the last time I wore this, I chose a basic tank top, this time in white. In order to add a bit of drama to the outfit, I wore my necklace made of Lucite balls. They are always fun to throw onto an outfit. They go with everything because they are transparent and pick up the colours of what you are wearing.

It’s very cute and fun for Summer. I definitly felt fancy prancing around the offic today.

I love little outfits like this.

Scarf Style

I know it doesn’t really make any sense to wear a scarf when it’s super hot outside, but I need something to add interest to this otherwise monotone outfit. Plus, I only wore this to work, which is air conditioned, so the heat wasn’t too much of an issue.

I love playing with the versatility of this skirt, and I decided to pair it with a loose fitting grey t-shirt. Nothing fancy, just very basic  and casual.

To add a couple points of visual interest I threw on my multi coloured handkerchief scarf, a silver belt, and red strapy sandals that Miss Alicia Quan gave me a few years ago.

I actually really love the way the scarf draped over the t-shirt and how it all looked like it was meant to be.

Just something very simple and fun!

A Long Day

Today felt like a really long day. Probably had to do with all the driving we did going to pick up my apparently fixed, but probably not, car. Then we had to stop and get food for dinner. Then we finally got home. It felt like forever!

I actually got the Husband to BBQ me some salmon, which was a first, since he doesn’t eat ‘things of the sea’. I have, however, converted him on the Prawn front.

Oh Tuesday, Tuesday.

I decided today I was going to wear my chocolate brown Linen skirt from Plum. This was one of the infamous “bought it too big and had to hem it” skirts from my collection. I love it though. It’s one of those things I wear to work and then everyone compliments me, and I’m like “but it’s from here!” and then they try and remember when they did it and talk about how they should do it again. So funny to me.

I paired this skirt with a white T from Esprit. The same one that has  a sheer Georgette yoke and sleeves. Super cute and different.

You can barely tell, but I am actually wearing wedges! I have a couple of great, super comfy wedges, but for whatever reason this season, I just haven’t worn them at all. I guess I’m just too obsessed with flats!

New Hair for a Zebra

The hair has been cut! It feels so much lighter and has so much more movement. Every time this happens to me, I always have a little bit of a panic attack because it feels like I have no hair left, but in reality it is SO much better! There is no fun in having a giant sack of hair on your head in the middle of Summer!

I spent the morning walking around the city, before and after my haircut. It was so nice to be in Coal Harbour, watching all the tourists, in the warm sun. I don’t often travel down there, but it is such a beautiful part of the city.

Tonight, we celebrate my Dads birthday with a Wine Tasting evening with Friends!

I got creative again. A turquoise tank tucked into a super cute Zebra skirt, both purchased at Plum. I brown belt would have looked great with this outfit, but I didn’t have one, so I opted to pick up the cream colour in the skirt. Gold and Cream Anchor necklace and Flower ring, both from Forever 21. Nude Sandals also worked out well with this outfit.

The close up photo of me looks way to dark and light all at the same time. Kind of awkward.

Cute outfit though! I want to wear it every day!

A little Blow, and a little Dry

Alicia and I were asked to be models tonight at Axis in Coal Harbour. The stylists were doing a class on Blow Outs so we were asked to be test subjects. Umm, who doesn’t want a free wash and amazing blow dry!? This is the best my hair has looked in a while. It’s so long and heavy, it feels like I’m wearing a sack of hair on my head. Thankfully, I am getting it cut this Saturday!

Since I knew I was going to have amazing hair this evening, I thought it might be a smart idea to have a cute outfit to go along with it. It’s amazing what a little pre planning will do for an outfit!

I layered two t’s, a white one, and grey/blue leopard print one. I tucked them into a black pleated Plum skirt. This skirt is amazing and so versatile, I should really wear it more often! I decided to go for a different pop of colour and opted for a fuchsia/red faux snake skin belt, with gold/sliver clasp, and wore a matching pinky ring to tie it all in. The love how unexpected it is, yet it still goes with the outfit.

I am totally obsessed with this look now. I’m definitly going to try it out with different T’s and belts!

The Godmother of Gold

At last, the skirts make an appearance! Thank God I finally hemmed these, can you imagine how much longer this one would be on me if I hadn’t!? Exactly. It still feels long, but it’s better then it was, so I will stop obsessing and just wear it. It also doesn’t sit right because I bought this during the time in my life when I thought I was bigger then I actually was, so it’s one size too big for me. Don’t ask, for the love of God, don’t ask. I’m not  very smart when it comes to fashion!

None the less, I paired this Plum skirt with a Pink tank from American Apparel and wrapped a funky leather and gold belt I got from Value Village years ago. The belt adds a cool touch to the out fit. I matched some simple gold jewellery to it all.

I know I should probably wear heels with all these cute Summer outfits, but heels and me at work just don’t jive. So, it’s sandals all around!

Simple and fun, you know how I roll!

Day 190

Hanging Out In The Back Alley

This is the first Friday night of the Summer where we’ve actually made plans to go hang out on a Patio for the evening. I know, it seems a little late, but you know who to blame for that.

We met our friends at their new False Creek apartment and headed down to the water for drinks and appies.

I purposely wore an outfit today that would easily transition from day to night.

This is one of my favorite summer outfits and I’ve been waiting for the day where I could finally wear it out.

The skirt is from Kensie and has a great elastic waistband and back exposed zipper. The only problem with this skirt is the longer you wear it the easier the zipper unzips itself with out you even having to touch it. The elastic is meant to be so tight around your waist that it pulls the zipper open all on it’s own. It’s really annoying actually. Next time I will have to safety pin it.

The easiest thing to do with this skirt is to tuck a simple tank top or t-shirt in. I chose this purple tank top from Plum.

I also wore my multi strand chain necklace, and forgot to change into my evening shoes. Oh well, flip flops it is!

This is such a fun and flirty look!
