Outfit Love

How predictable am I? Very predictable because every time I wear this sweater I am in love.

Tonight we went on the Christmas Train around Stanley Park, so wearing layers was a must. We still froze our butts off, but at least the extra layers took a little of the edge off.

Long Sleeve White Plum T
Led Zeppelin Band T
Kersh Stripped Sweater
Dish Motorcycle Jeans
Faux Fryes
Knit Toque

The train we fun times and we all went out for foods afterwards which was fun times as well.

I wanted to parade around in my comfy and warm outfit all night long!

Stripy Mc Stripe

I’m not very good at being creative bold pieces of clothing. All I ever seem to do is pair it with something simple and let the bold piece stand out. It just ends up becoming so mundane. I need a lesson in creativity.

While this sweater is not HUGELY over the top , it is enough so that all I want to wear something basic with it. I ‘tried’ to step out of the box today and paired it with a grey T, black denim leggings and a black scarf, but it’s not really that out there. I like the idea of mixing a patterned sweater with a printed T, but most of my T-shirts are in basic colours, or striped. I really don’t own that many printed Ts. Clearly, I need to change that.

The only adventurous part of this outfit was a clip I found that matched my sweater. Cutest thing ever!

I like todays outfit, but I really feel I need to push myself some more when it comes to fashion. Especially when it comes to the pieces I love.

Over Salted, Over Layered

Over salted – possible. Over layered – NEVER!

I was wrapped tightly today, all cozied up. It is nice to be warm!

Today I wore grey and white Ts layered and wrapped with a purple and grey striped sweater. Purple & Grey, an excellent combination in my books. A grey fuzzy scarf to match, just to make sure I don’t catch a wind and end up sick for days (old Italian wise tale). Motorcycle Jeans from Dish because I like texture, and my Faux Fryes because I want to wear them every day.

This outfit works more then I thought it would. I love the shade of grey in the T-shirt and how it works with the sweater, and the texture of the jeans with the sweater! Sweet Jesus!

Yes, I get obsessive about these things.

DISASTER

I totally bailed in the parking garage on my way up tonight. That’s right, I rolled my right ankle, smashed me knee, and killed my shoulder all in the matter of 3 seconds. Not good. But, as the trouper I am, I still took fashion photos and made dinner before passing out in pain on the couch :S

I kind of feel like this outfit is very rustic. Like I should be in the woods or something. Could just be me though.

Most of yesterdays snow is gone. The over night rain did it in. Seems like such a waste. All the beautiful snow washed away like it never happened.

It was still chilly today, so I went for the smart choice and decided to wear a long sleeve white knit top under a sweater, that way I got extra warmth and cute little white cuffs. I love layering every thing with a white knit top!

Both the White T and Blue Sweater are from Plum, along with my stripped scarf.

My Mavi cargos are always a nice change from wearing Jeans every day. I know I should probably introduce other bottoms into my wardrobe, but that’s just not me.

The Faux Fryes probably saved my life because they gave my ankle some sort of stabilization. I knew these boots were special <3

SNOW!

You can kind of see outside on the deck the amount of snow we got. This morning was a disaster but it started to mist rain instead of snow by the afternoon, so the drive home was not a nightmare.

This is probably my quintessential SNOW outfit. The warmest thing I own.

I bought this sweater from Suzy Shier years ago and have kept it, basically because I love stripes. It is also the warmest thing I own. I was toasty at work, while everyone else was looking for space heaters! I layered it with a basic white shirt just to give me some length and extra coziness.

My yoga jeans are the ‘thickest’ jeans I own that I can wear boots with, so that was a give in.

My black boots died in a snow accident. I had to drive in my socks. OK, they aren’t dead, but they are soaking wet, on the inside.  Not good.

Now, I shall warm my frozen feet by the fire!

Bring On the Warmth

Could I BE any more bundled up? Probably not.

I love this scarf that I bought from Plum early this year. It is so chunky and cozy, only problem is it sheds like a mother on my black Pea Coat. Now it kind of looks like Grover. It does get to be a bit much to wear all day because it is so thick and cumbersome, but it keeps me warm, so I guess that is the price I pay!

I wanted to go about my day all dressed in black with one pop of colour. As an Italian, I don’t think I wear enough black. It use to be my favorite colour when I was younger, not because I was Gothic, but because I was/am Italian.

I started off my black outfit with a stripped T-shirt from the Garage. The stripes give a bit of a visual interest. Next I grabbed my black Kersh Boyfriend Cardigan. My Dish Motorcycle jeans aren’t technically black, but they are dark, and I love their texture, so they get a pass. My plaid boots were a perfect choice considering my outfit was becoming more about texture and print then about being Black. Ha.

Tomorrow it is suppose to snow. Oh God, what am I going to wear!?

MONDAY!

It is ok that it’s Monday because I am wearing my new favorite combination. I am so easy to predict because I love the same old stuff.

Stripes? Check!
Scarf? Check!
Straight Leg Jeans? Check!
Checkered Vans? Check!

HEAVEN

I love this sweater that I got from Kersh @ Plum. I love this scarf that I bought ages ago when I worked at Bootlegger. I love how the colours mix together and just look awesome. I love of warm I was ALL DAY. I love this love white T-Shirt from the garage. I love these Dish jeans from Plum. I love these Checkered Vans that I bought one Boxing Day I bought a few years ago. I love it SO MUCH.

Ok, ok, I think that is enough LOVE for one day!

The Night of the Pizza with out Potatoes

We had a four some with Adam and Alicia tonight. And by four some I mean we watched hockey and ate pizza while wearing work apparel. The sight of seeing Chad and Adam in work suits sitting on the couch eating pizza is just funny to me.

Todays outfit was inspired by this top that I also bought at H&M in Italy. Its a very simple scoop neck striped T with rouched sleeves. I’ve been avoiding the ‘attention to shoulder’ trend given the fact that mine are so ‘large’, but when I saw this top, I just had to have it.

Something about it screamed – RETRO – to me, so I had to dress it up with a 70s feel.

I wore the T-Shirt tucked into a pair of flared Dish jeans with a leather belt I bought at the Florence Leather Market. A simple long silver chain and black boots completed the look.

I must say I am totally obsessed with 1) the top, 2) tucking it in, and 3) the way the brown belt looks.

I know this isn’t something that is totally ‘out there’, but its definitely not something I would usually put together.

Score 5 points for experimenting with looks!

Candy Time!

It’s my Mommas birthday today. She was born on all hallows eve some years ago, so we spent the evening at her house, making dinner and handing out candy to the kids. We were pretty popped from last nights dinner, so we spent the day quietly before heading over to Mothers.

Chad and I didn’t dress us this year. Dressing Chad up is like pulling teeth, so I don’t even bother any more, plus it’s just easier then stressing out about costumes.

Todays ‘costume’ is made up of a basic White T, my very drapy Kersh striped sweater, a pair of Dish jeans, and grey flats. Very grey and blue. I love it!

And no, I didn’t eat all the candy!

Midweek Mishaps

Things are slowly coming together. I decided to clean out my whole closet and get rid of a bunch of stuff, which I was not expecting to do. There wasn’t really much to get rid of, but just enough to make room for the last few Fall purchases I have waiting for me on my rack at work. I have my closet organized down to a science. I need to otherwise I would find nothing. It pains me how small it is.

Chad has also decided to start going to the gym a few times a week, today being one of those days. The kitchen table had to take my photos for me cause I didn’t want to wait around for the husband to get home. I need to find a better solution :S

I think today’s outfit had potential, but I’m not feeling it. I need to invest in some new flats, which I really think I am going to do this weekend. I have a very poor selection.

The striped top I got from The Garage, but there is something about it that I like, yet don’t like. I can’t put my finger on it. I kept it simple by pairing it with a black Ribbed Waist Cardigan from Kersh. These babies sell like Hot Cakes each year at Plum. They are such a great investment.

I wanted to do a big scarf again, so I grabbed the shawl I wore for my cousins wedding and knotted it around my neck. Seemed to work pretty well.  As for my Mavi Jeans, they are in desperate need of replacement. The only reason I keep wearing them is because they are the only pair of boot cut jeans I own that I can wear with flats. The are dying very, very quickly. I have to stop torturing myself by wearing them.

The bracelet I got was a pretty cool purchase I made in Italy at a store called OVS. It’s pretty popular over there and has a lot of cute things.
