Its Time For Christmas Balls!

Our annual Christmas Party is tonight. The house is fully decorated and everything is ready! I love having all the Christmas stuff out. The lights make everything look so much more cozy.

This outfit is kind of a repeat (ok it IS a repeat) but there is a legitamate reason for it, other then the fact that I  just wanted to wear it again. Since tonight is technically a night in, I wanted to FINALLY bust out a pair of knitted Dex leggings I bought at Christmas last year. They are so warm and cozy and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to wear them. Only problem is I don’t own many tops that cover my butt. Thankfully, The Garage makes extra long Ts and so this tank top worked perfectly. Topped off with my Dex Chanel inspired sweater and I had the perfect Holiday outfit!

Now, I clearly need to invest in more long tops, especially since I have more fun leggings waiting for me on my rack at work. Leggings are not PANTS, remember, so wearing a top that does not cover your front junk and your back junk is NOT allowed! Haha.

Thankfully, I am all covered tonight!

Hobos On The Outside

There are so many jobs on the go. So many things that need to be done. I guess it’s the season of events, and parties, and business. I already feel the stress of not having my Christmas Cards out and it is only the SECOND of December. Don’t even get me started.

The Sun came out today, which was a nice change of pace. It warmed us up enough to take pictures outside. A welcomes change of scenery.

Today I wore an old sweater from Plum, back in the day when we use to produce our own sweaters. This one is a mix of Black and Brown, with a hood and kangaroo pocket. Super cute if you ask me! I wore it with a long white T and my speckled Dish Jeans & Chuck Taylors.

Sometimes, in the rush of the morning, I tend to ignore the obvious need for accessories. I think it is clear that I am a ‘less is more’ kind of girl. Today, however, I went for osmething a bit more bold, something a little more unexpected for this outfit. Large wooden beads in Blue did the trick.

Who said blue balls were a bad thing?

Colour Me a Fool

We went to Costco last night. Bought me a nice Poinsettia. The first, little bit of Christmas poking its head in the apartment.

As I’ve mentioned before, unless the sun is out, our office, for some reason, is an ice box. No one really knows why, but it causes me to feel like I  need to dress for the arctic every day. This is basically why I resort to wearing the same thing every day. Jeans, Boots, Sweaters, Scarves. Any bare skin gets frost bitten.

Today I decided to saturate my outfit with Green and Blue. Deep intense colours are always my favoirte.

Oversized grey Sample sweater with my green handkerchief scarf. Indigo Mavi Leggings and black boots.

It’s kind of like I’m straight out of a colouring book.

Christmas Party Time!

We had our work Christmas party this evening. What does this mean? It means that we get to hang out in the beautiful home of our bosses, while drinking wine and fancy drinks, and stuffing our faces with the most amazing food known to man. The food, oh the food. I can not express to you just how much I love the fooood.

The outfit I had planned today did not actually pan out. The little black dress and Boyfriend jacket made me look like a sack of clothing. Not good as I really had not planned any sort of back up!

Scrambling 20 minutes before I had to leave, left me with two outfits I had already worn before. So, I figured I would squish them together to make something, relatively new.

Considering I work for a clothing company, it only made sense that I wear something from said clothing company that reflected Fall 2010. Only problem, most of it was too casual to wear to a Holiday party. Another reason why I had to repeat.

So, here goes…

Press Ruffled Tank Top
Plum Leopard Print Cardigan
Mavi Denim Leggings
Spring Boots

A simple diamond necklace, and my hair slicked back, and I was ready to go!

DISASTER

I totally bailed in the parking garage on my way up tonight. That’s right, I rolled my right ankle, smashed me knee, and killed my shoulder all in the matter of 3 seconds. Not good. But, as the trouper I am, I still took fashion photos and made dinner before passing out in pain on the couch :S

I kind of feel like this outfit is very rustic. Like I should be in the woods or something. Could just be me though.

Most of yesterdays snow is gone. The over night rain did it in. Seems like such a waste. All the beautiful snow washed away like it never happened.

It was still chilly today, so I went for the smart choice and decided to wear a long sleeve white knit top under a sweater, that way I got extra warmth and cute little white cuffs. I love layering every thing with a white knit top!

Both the White T and Blue Sweater are from Plum, along with my stripped scarf.

My Mavi cargos are always a nice change from wearing Jeans every day. I know I should probably introduce other bottoms into my wardrobe, but that’s just not me.

The Faux Fryes probably saved my life because they gave my ankle some sort of stabilization. I knew these boots were special <3

SNOW!

You can kind of see outside on the deck the amount of snow we got. This morning was a disaster but it started to mist rain instead of snow by the afternoon, so the drive home was not a nightmare.

This is probably my quintessential SNOW outfit. The warmest thing I own.

I bought this sweater from Suzy Shier years ago and have kept it, basically because I love stripes. It is also the warmest thing I own. I was toasty at work, while everyone else was looking for space heaters! I layered it with a basic white shirt just to give me some length and extra coziness.

My yoga jeans are the ‘thickest’ jeans I own that I can wear boots with, so that was a give in.

My black boots died in a snow accident. I had to drive in my socks. OK, they aren’t dead, but they are soaking wet, on the inside.  Not good.

Now, I shall warm my frozen feet by the fire!

There is Nothing Like a Photo Shoot in the Bathroom!

Tonight I got together with two girls I haven’t seen in forever, Marlee & Krista. It was so fun getting together with them and stuffing our faces with Japanese food. God I love Japanese food!

Krista was very excited to be my photographer for the evening, and I was very excited to have her take my pictures!

Since it did snow last night, tonights concern was more warmth then fashion. My plan to wear a skirt for the first time in forever was thrown out the window. Though, I have to admit, denim leggings are way to thin to keep your legs warm!

I wondered around downtown in my striped T from H&M and my striped sweater from Kersh. STRIPE ALERT. The stripes on the T-shirt are so tiny that they don’t really compete with the sweater, which is a good thing.

My neck was freezing cold, so a grey knit scarf from Plum was essential. Black denim leggings as I mentioned and Faux Fryes. I tried playing it cool. Ha.

The only cool thing about this outfit is that I am in the bathroom. Bahaha!

When It All Comes Together

I am obsessed with this outfit! Sometimes simple things come together in such a good way.

Even though its cold and I probably shouldn’t be wearing a tank top, the colour just screamed at me this morning and I had to put it on. I just love this colour. I layered it with a White tank top to ad some colour dimension and to keep me a tiny bit warm.

This leopard sweater from Plum was the perfect piece for today. It’s just so beautiful and stylish and I feel like someone important when I wear it. It is such a nice leopard print too, not something tacky.

I kept my lower half pretty simple. Black Denim Leggings and Black Steve Madden Boots – from Army & Navy!

A nice and easy silver necklace and my hair pinned back and I feel like a movie star.

Oh la la!

Day 316-1

Fri Dizzle

Today was all about getting my butt home in time to make an amazing dinner for the crew. I think I succeeded. The kitchen and ‘dining room’ many never be the same again, but at least we enjoyed ourselves!

After dinner there was a mad rush to get down to the Cambie. Elise and I text messaged each other from across the table and apparently that annoyed the boys. Too BAD! Haha!

Since I knew we were going to the Cambie tonight, I only felt it necessary to dress appropriately. That’s right girls, fancy dresses and heels NOT welcome! They clearly don’t realize that they get mocked by all the “scum” – including myself – in the place. You dress down and dirty to go to the Cambie, not up and classy!

But I digress.

One of our more popular sweaters this season at Plum, my Skull sweater from Kersh naturally felt like the perfect fit for the Cambie. I wore it over a long white T which helped cover up my long torso, considering the sweater itself is somewhat short. My motorcycle jeans were also a natural choice as they are my most ‘rugged’ jeans, and Chuck Taylors are basically issued at the door, so I had to wear them.

It’s kind of weird that a place like Plum sells skull sweaters, but these are so cute they just fit right in. This was the first time I wore it out and I got so many compliments on it. Definitely a must have!

Hello Love

I loved this outfit, but I am not a huge fan of how big this tank top makes me look. It’s funny how certain prints can play games with your eyes and make you look bigger then you really are. A little bit of print is a good thing, too much, is clearly a bad thing.

I haven’t worn my Chanel Sweater since Italy. When you wear it that many days in a row, it’s easy to get sick of it. Today, however, I knew it would go with this outfit and I just had to wear it.

I was really excited when I found this printed tank from The Garage. It was so cheap and I knew it would work out as the perfect layering piece. The cold winds are coming, but until they show up, it’s tank tops and sweaters for me. It’s a nice change from always wearing T-shirts and such.

The elements of this outfit are pretty simple. Printed Tank, Chanel Inspired Sweater, Black Denim Leggings, and Black boots. Together, however, they make a somewhat elegant look. Well, as elegant as you can get wearing a bunch of knits.

I just love the way it looks and how it all works together, minus the print making me look ten times bigger then I am :S
